2004 Olympics
I'm thinking al Qaeda or other terrorist groups will target the 2004 Olympics in Greece. There will be a huge influx of tourists for the event, and I don't see how security can keep up - it would be easy for a small, determined group to slip in and create a scenerio just like in Munich in '72. I'm hoping for the best, but I fear the worst... any thoughts?

1. If the Olympics take place
There is a general feeling that the games will be cancelled. Have you noticed that there's been much less hype this time around?

3. It has gotten to the point that the terrorist have won. Activities that
promote international friendship and good feeling cannot occur because of terror or the cost is so prohibitive that the sponsors might go broke. If Greece can have the Olympic games, I don't think they will have the attendance and generate the revenue to cover the costs (including the humongous cost of "security"). So sad.

4. 'General feeling'?
Have you any evidence for that at all? In Britain, I have never heard a single claim that the games will be cancelled due to terrorist fears. Some have suggested the US team might not turn up, but no-one takes that seriously. The biggest threat to the games was the Greeks not finishing the stadia on time - and now it appears the building is going to be completeed in just enough time.

5. They cannot cancel Olympics
with all the money Greece spent for it. There is just no way, other than a huge terrorist attack.

2. True, an easy target
and even if there is no terrorism there, our atheletes will undergo abuse from the spectators.
