John McCain, Bush's smiling and ebullient enabler

McCain gives Bush a strong endorsement
For at least a day, two set aside bitter rivalry at joint appearance

"He has led this country with moral clarity," McCain said of Bush in praising his stewardship of the war on terror as commander-in-chief.

"There have been ups and downs as there have been in any war, but like you, he has not wavered in his determination to protect this country, and to make the world a better, safer and freer place. You will not yield, nor will he,” the Arizona senator said.

4. Agreed!
I have been on McCain's case for quite some time. He is as two-faced a person I have ever seen. I will never trust him. He has lost any self-respect he may have one time had. And while we are at it let's throw Zell Miller to the wolves.

2. I think Kerry knew what he was doing when he let others
lead the media down the path of his offering Vice Presidency to McCain. I think Kerry's staff was intending to appeal to Independents, to show them that Kerry has moderate leanings.

Kerry and his staff aren't complete idiots. McCain had been very clear, over and over, that he had no intention of running for the Vice Presidency at all, much less on a Democratic ticket, and that he was voting for and campaigning for Bush. So I don't think Kerry would have let the media hype up an implied VP offer w/o intention on the Kerry camp's part.

We all know that Kerry and his camp can keep a secret (like who they are really considering for VP).

I cannot stand to look at his face and these sexed up photo ops. Today he looks particularly disgusting with his AWOL arms around the shoulders of these two girls--children warriors . I

:puke:

McCain is willing to do this in spite of all he has suffered from Bush--and especially all that his wife has suffered--and no apology--course not--the asshole, tiny little man, Bush ,has a charge to keep.

He is not looking well either

I ask myself: Are these the troops I am supporting?

8. And there are too many here
Who fail to see through this bull shit.
I’ll give McCain credit for what he has done in life, But the fact is he is no friend of the Democrats or Progressives, He would stab us in the back at the first opportunity.

I’m just sick of these fucking Lieberman Liberals, These fucking hand wringing fucks who would appease these fucking Nazis.
They tried it the “Nice” way back in 2000, Now we need to set this shit aside and go for their fucking throats, All the shit these assholes have done to this Country and the rest of the World and McCain stands there along side of this grinning idiot like their the best of friends.

Fuck em.:dem:

which helps explain this shit. also shows kerry probably would not have asked him to be vp. everything reported so far says they discussed but kerry never made a direct offer.

7. Yes, and part of McCain's "compliance" with the agenda...
...is to seamlessly integrate the Bush administration's talking points into his own vocabulary, to make the words appear to be his own, to ultimately replace anything resembling an original thought or personal opinion with the pre-scripted agenda of Karl Rove and Karen Hughes.

So far, I'd say he's doing an excellent job and deserves a Scooby Snack like the good little doggie he is.

10. Its a longshot but ...

McCain may be being setup for the VP spot in case things blow up with Cheney's liabilities and it becomes necessary to dump him.

He may be perceived as not-so-right-wing and Bush-beholden and able to bring back some independents and defectors in a close election.

And McCain may think he has nothing to lose by supporting Bush. If Bush wins, he's out of the running for another 4 years but if Bush loses and takes much of the extrme rights credibility in the party with him, McCain is still seen as a more moderate Republican AND a loyal party member.

13. How much ya wanna bet McCain LOSES his appeal because of this...
He criticized bush a couple of months ago, and now he's bush's new bitch on the campaign trail. Bush is setting him up for a fall... but I don't know what it will be.

14. "He has led this country with moral clarity" . . . how very, very true . .
of course, the moral clarity consists of lying, cheating and stealing . . . and BushCo has indeed been clear and consistent in these matters . . . how very perceptive of McCain to notice . . .

1. He's a chickenhawk.

2. He's fucked the military. Families have to send basic necessities to Iraq, including even body armor.
