CNN has 9/11 investigation story on air now
Just covered how weed boy told of 2nd strike just as students began to read the book. Woman said "prez wanted to demonstrate face of calm" so he sat there while press corp (behind the students) phones all rang. prez wanted to be calm to not alarm. What a joke!

1. Yeah,the safety of 260 million Americans is less important
than upsetting some school children. Yeah...right that makes a lot of sense. I hope they keep using that line.

4. I taught
school for 32 years and I know if something of this magnitude had happened in my classroom, the asshole would have left because I would have had sense enough to detect an urgent message being conveyed to him and told him to attend to his business. But then I would never have allowed him to be in my classroom in the first place. But then I guess he was getting a much needed reading lesson. We reallllllllllly shouldn't expect so much of him...

9. Welcome to DU.
I just find it fascinating that CNN is trying to defuse the Moore movie by giving us the explanation of his calm demeanor. Unbelievable, but not unexpected!

Welcome again!:hi:

who knows how many lives might have been saved had the lame brain acted promptly. And we need him to become prez again?????????? Give this country and this world a break from this idiot.

3. Why do people assume the only way
to leave a room in a crisis is screaming and yelling?

Why couldn't he have stood up calmly and excused himself. Even if he said he had to go potty? There are a multitude of ways to leave a room without alarming your audience.

He is not an "ordinary" citizen, he is the LEADER of our country. I would expect said leader would possess certain skills, one of them being handling themselves with grace under pressure.

The first responders are a fine example of this.

Suppose a fire chief was told of a major fire nearby, but he was conducting a fire safety talk at a local school. If he (or she) sat there instead of finding some excuse to leave my bet is the community leaders would be aghast.

Of course, one can only imagine if Clinton did something like this, articles of impeachment would have been drawn the next day.

7. Again, I agree
My husband says he's hitting the bottle again...who knows? But that certainly doesn't show leadership skills that he is constantly bragging about. Shows that he's a coward of the highest magnitude or that he's just plain stupid. Maybe both??

6. How difficult would it be
to calmly state, "Sorry kids, I have an important phone call I need to take"? Was the only alternative to jump up and start screaming "OMG were under attack - run for cover"?:wow:

8. Jesus what a load of horses**t
it is just unbelievable what pablum they feed people...AND MOST BELIEVE IT! BECAUSE 'THEY' SAID SO!!

It is truly, just plain, VOMITY.

He's sittin' there in the room with 5 year olds nodding away and they tell him this (so the story goes - I'm not so sure) and he doesn't say: let's figger out whut t'do? No - he's projecting calm to the media? He's actually projecting at best incompetence and at worst complicity.

I am old enough to remember when Kennedy was shot and there was a picture of Jackie climbing over the back of the limo. LIFE mag's caption was (paraphrased): Mrs. Kennedy is assisting Clint Hill (the Secret Service man) into the car.

She was getting the F**k out of the car since her husband's brains had been blown out not 18 inches from her face and she knew that the shots were coming from the front, not the back - that's why she didn't just duck.I remember as an 11 yeara old KNOWING that this was just a giant lie. My cynicism started on that day.

16. I remember that too
As if Jackie scrambling for her life was something COWRADLY. She's a mother with 2 kids, half of her husbands head has been blown off and she was getting the hell out of there! That's more reflex than anything else.

19. I think that we have some Grassy Knoll members here
and they could say much better than me, but I recall rading many accounts that Jackie was not on the trunk trying to escape or help the agent. She was attempting to retrieve, uh, a piece of President Kennedy. It was an instinctual move. Who knows the actual truth?

22. That was a possibility too
I know that Jackie never said that she was scrambling for her life. The comment that she was trying to retrieve a piece of JFK's head was offered as an explanation, but I just think it's sad that anyone, including Jackie, feels the need to offer some kind of explanation OTHER than that she was running for her life.

As for being a Grassy Knoll member, actually I saw JFK the day before he was killed. He came to Houston the day before, I was in first grade and my mother took me downtown to see the motorcade. It was a bright sunny day and I remember his hair looked red in the sunlight. The next day, back in school, I remember someone from the office coming in and whispering in my teacher's ear. I don't remember much after that, except that I was mad that my mother wouldn't take me to the toy store to get a new paint by numbers kit!

23. I remember that Life
caption and I had the very same thought. I remember wondering why the magazine would lie like that. We were taught early to be cynical.

This was supposed to be the calm face, huh? I remember thinking at the time that he looked like the dumbest SOB on the planet and what the hell was going through his mind? Now we know. There is no mind. Just one dumb face after the other.

Regardless of whether he could have saved a single life or not, regardless of whether he really could have doane anything at all:
staying in the room reading to kids at a time of national crisis is deriliction of duty. There is no other way to define it.

17. Anybody see that stark contrast on Zahn's
show the other night?

There was this father who was angry and grief-stricken who was casting appropriate balme on the right shoulders and there was this slimy p***k who lost his 'beloved' wife who siad that she didn't die in vain since they've done all this work to make America safer or some such bullsh*t. Guy's all nattily dressed and looked like Ken Starr's son or younger brother made me want to vomit fast as a comet.

about the USofA makes me wonder if they are subjected to some system of hypnosis that has brain washed them to believe the crap they report.

21. Paula Zahn's CNN show
Here's the transcript to the Paula Zahn show you're talking about:

http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0406/17/pzn.00.html

I was very psyched to see author Peter Lance mention my website on the show:

"And the fact is the -- as horrifying as all this is, the 9/11 commission is only telling part of the story. There were significant gaps between what the official report was today and what has been published in places like cooperativeresearch.org, this remarkable time line that traces minute-by-minute what happened."

24. They scrambled cheney to a bunker and left bush vulnerable.
Kind of says it all, doesn't it. Who is important, and who isn't.

What pisses me off is that with the country under serious attack, they don't know how many planes are in the air (transponders turned off, remember?), and there's the king of bogus sitting in a classroom filled with children. Yes, sir. Target Numero Uno, endangering every living breathing soul in that school.

I will ask any right-winger, would you want your child in that classroom?

failure to track the planes. Remember the golfer who died with the rest of the passengers and crew on a private jet? His plane had no transponder yet they were able to track his plane and fighter jets were able to escort it for 20 minutes until it crashed.

How were they so successful with a golfers private jet, yet they failed so miserably with 4 jetliners?

It makes no sense.
