ken lay to be indicted
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 02:56 PM by thebigmansentme
HOUSTON (Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors are expected to ask a federal grand jury to indict former Enron Corp. chairman Ken Lay within two weeks on charges related to the company's 2001 collapse, a newspaper reported Saturday.

The Houston Chronicle, citing unnamed sources, said Lay likely would face fraud charges similar to those filed earlier against former Enron chief executive office Jeffrey Skilling and former Enron chief accounting officer Richard Causey.

3. God, why do I suffer through freeperville
They should all be thrilled that this man is going to be indicted! He is a criminal who robbed many middle class americans of their pensions! All they seem concerned with is "it's OK *as long as* they don't draw a connection to Bush"

What is wrong with these people? Did they hear the enron tapes? Collective stupidity is so friggin' dangerous!

21. Their point of view will make you ill.
Some of the hate that comes from that place is unreal!

Frequently members of DU will post a link to topic from freeperville. You will immediately realize they aren't very smart or sophisticated. It is collective ignorance and a profound example of what happens to you if you drink the kool-aid.

I hope you find DU a sanctuary and enjoy your time here!

17. Hell yes, he does
and will probably let the criminal keep all the money too. Let's just hope a pardon doesn't preclude a civil suit to get back most of the money.

31. Look Back At The S & L Scandal
How little we hear about the last time a Bush drained our treasury and his fat-cat friends walked with billions...the S & L Scandal.

Other than Keating, I don't remember too many others who actually served time and many of the principals, including Neil Bush, walked without having to repay a dime of the billions of individual savings they gambled with like drunk sailors and those people were wiped out, just like the Enron/Worldcom fiasco.

Incredible who these assholes just walk in, flaut laws, purposely decieve investors and the government, then when their Ponzi scheme falls through, the government bails them out and those who aren't "connected" are SOL.

Yep, KennyBoy will never see what being Fat Bubba's girlfriend will be and there'll be blanket pardons...as well as special legislation that already has limited what personal liability these thieves have done to Americans...not even to say the consumers of California!

better late than never. I imagine a lot of Bush donors could be indicted for various crimes. Maybe if President Kerry appoints Eliot Spitzer as Attorney General we'll get all of these bastards.

Is he gonna send his wife out again to cry over how poor they are and how they are down to only three mansions?

I want his only asset to be his shaving kit and his only mansion to be that big gray house with bars.

25. His wife's sobbing about the possibility of losing their Aspen chalet
was truly heart wrenching.

People losing their pensions and commiting suicide and California getting screwed to the tune of billions while these pricks chortle over it and we're supposed to feel compassion for this b***h?It showed how out of touch these people truly are.

After those tapes, I wouldn't need any further evidence. My company's pension system lost several million when the Crooked E collapsed.

14. Same charges as Skilling: Skilling's lawyer is Dan Petrocelli--
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 03:05 PM by hlthe2b
the lawyer that won the civil trial against OJ for the Goldmans.. I saw a short piece with him discussing the charges against Skilling and strongly suspect the prosecution case is going to fall apart... Maybe Petrocelli just has a great game face but he certainly had me wondering if Skilling won't end up walking... Same would be likely of Lay, unfortunately.

20. Indict 'Kenny Boy' - junior takes money and pardons 'Kenny Boy'
in time for Christmas dinner and jokes with Karl Rove. The repukes never thought they could get away two terms anway! They got the main thing and that was the money.

'Kenny Boy' - junior - Rove - live happily ever after and ...... not really, junior has to go to the Hague, 'Kenny Boy' goes to MD Anderson, and Rove winds up in a mental institution with cheney as a room mate.

23. The Grand Jury should give Ken Lay's attonery ten years in prison
just for being stupid.

"but Lay lawyer Michael Ramsey expressed skepticism his client would be charged, the Chronicle said."

"Indict him for what?" he asked. "I don't know what they could charge him with."
