Are Arab terrorists the ME's version of Freepers?

USA Freepers: "All Arabs and Muslims are psyhco terrorists that want every American 'infidel' dead, so we must kill each and every one of them!"

Arab version of Freepers: "All Americans are clones of george b*sh that want to exploit the Middle East for oil while killing every muslim, so we must kill each and every American!"

About the only difference I can see is that the USA Freepers are more the armchair variety of warrior...though some of them are in the military getting their chance to do as they wanted - kill muslims. Just like not all Arab Freepers have signed up to kill every American I guess, so both sides have their armchair warriors.

Both sides are severely misguided...

For the record, I don't consider the Iraqi "insurgents" terrorists...they seem more like nationalists to me...think Al Qaeda when you read me.

If they target the military and not civilians, they're guerrilla fighters.

I'd say many who attack the US and the puppet government in Iraq are in fact "nationalists"

that doesn't involve te US but rather the Islamic faith worldwide. Wahhabists and other fundamentalists are trying to take over Islam. There is a real battle going on between fundamentalist and progressive Muslims right now. Saudi money is fueling the fundamentalist side, and progressives are only now finding their voice. What is important is that non-Muslims realize that Islam is NOT the stuff you see the fundamentalists doing in Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia, any more than Jerry Falwell and his ilk are the sum total of Christianity.

Extremism of any kind seems to be a big problem...the whole black/white dichotomy that extremists have is very dangerous because almost any non-mathematical problem has complications and nuances that do not allow for such dichotomy...I am very much with the other poster in this thread that was suggesting this.

interesting perspective. There is extremism on the left though too. For example, many times I noticed some Duers talk about all republicans like they are stupid and evil people, this is the same stereotyping that freepers do about democrats. The one thing extremists seem to have in common is a black and white view of the world, with no shades of gray.

And the Anthrax assassin sure would feel at home at FR. In the latter case, I would be be surprised if they were.

and the anthrax assassin is more likely to have a significant scientific background whereas the Freepers are against intellectualism based on all their rants about professors. Of course, I am generalizing - I guess I just wanted to make a dig at those "people."

Yep, the Islamists are religiously insane like the Freepers, and you know damn well and good, the Freeps would kill dark people if they had the chance!

If you'd go some decades back, the Jerry Falwells of the world would be the ones lamenting that Black and White could marry.
