Whatever happened to Matt Glavin, sex pervert?

Remember Matt Glavin - The psycho nut case from the Southeastern Legal Foundation who sued Clinton trying to get him disbarred? Glavin was caught soliciting anonymous gay sex from a Park Ranger in a National Park in north Atlanta in 2000, and had kept under wraps a 1996 conviction for the same offense. Glavin had apparently been cruising rest stops and parks known for anonymous gay sex activity for at least ten years - quite a surprise to his wife and kids.

Glavin seems to have fell of the face of the earth. Nobody here in Atlanta seems to know what happened to him. Anbybody have any ideas? Have you heard anything about the guy? I'd be ineterested to know what happens to Republican sex perverts who get run out of town on a rail - there are so few of them. Most of them are promoted up the party chain.

... makes this man a "sex pervert" ? The gay sex? The anonymity of it? The double life with a wife and child as beards? I would dispute all three. There are many millions who engage in either one or a combination of the three who would likewise dispute the characterization.

He is certianly a hypocrite. Certainly a severely repressed soul. Certainly consumed by his own self-loathing and hatred that he had to channel it in the direction of the President. And, certainly very nasty for what he has done to his wife and child.

But again, just what qualifies him as a "sex pervert" which is a very, very dangerous qualification?

...I really have some issues with that. There are some in the gay community who defend "cruising" like this..in parks, restrooms, porno movie places, etc, but I think it just enables the closet.

... or dismisses those that find such behaviour and activity to be part and parcel of their sexual character and the sexual experience for them; having nothing, whatsoever, to do with being in or out of the closet. The act of the cruise, itself, is a substantial part of the excitement, of the sexual act, itself. It's part of their "foreplay."

Instead of a singles' bar at happy hour as it would be for a straight man or woman, a gay man may very well select the turf of a park, restroom, or other arena. Indeed, many straight men will admit that the chase is more than half the fun of the capture; the "cruise" and its anonymity may well be just another form of "the chase" or the role playing.

Irrespective, sexual anonymity does not, at all, make someone a pervert.

Probably before the times of alot of folks here, but he was a GOP bigshot in Congress during the 70s, from the Eastern Shore of MD, who was arrested for trying to pick up male prostitutes in DC, and then outed.

He was then defeated for his Congressional seat, his wife divorced him, and he then wrote a book on his ordeal,..The Gentleman from Maryland....not sure whatever happened to him. He wasnt that old.

I think I heard that he opened a legal pratice in Baltimore after being defeated from Congress., but was sinking as he wasnt getting much buisness.
