Maryland Student Leader Launches Hunger Strike...
The Democrats.com Daily News for June 18, 2004 noted that Maryland student leader Aaron Kraus is holding a hunger strike on the State House's steps, to protest the outrageous hikes in tuition.

I often wonder why the younger generation has not begun to produce, for lack of a better description, nationally recognized leaders? I know that this level of politics has a seductive nature that most honest people choose to avoid. But considering the state of national affairs, including the potential for a draft, and the war in the Middle East, there should be far more student organization. For much of the year, I see the local newspaper's "police blotter" filled with the names of students from Oneonta's two colleges. They get arrested for such nonsense as "open container," "public lewdness," and "tresspassing." I do not understand why students are willing to get arrested for the stupidest of behaviors, but not willing to start participating in mass demonstations?

Any other information on aaron Kraus?
