Fahrenheit 9/11 - Drumroll Please!!!
Well, I know the theaters are getting e-mails from both sides, but what do these numbers tell you?

Date # of Screens
6/14 323
6/15 374
6/16 428
6/17 543
6/19 555!

In case you haven't done your duty to support Freedom of Speech, here is the e-mail list of most (I can't guantee all) of the theaters that are scheduled to show the film. They're being bombarded from both sides, so be sure and show your support in your subject line. At this point, I imagine they aren't reading every single e-mail, but that doesn't mean that your voice can't be heard. Here's the list:

Copy, paste and save it to a word document so that you can spread the word on other websites.

2. "Greek Wedding" opened on about 100 U.S. screens.
Slow and steady building of buzz made it a huge hit.

F9/11's 555 screens is probably unheard of for an indie-distributed documentary.

4. For a documentary, over 500 is huge
The cost of prints isn't insignificant and it's better to have them standing in line for the first weekend and add theaters the second or third week. I think they call it platforming and that IS how "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was released as well. It started on a few screens in a few cities and got good reviews, good word of mouth advertising, etc. and then they started adding screens. It actually ended up playing for a YEAR in a couple of cities.

9. No link
I had been watching the F911 website (http://www.f911tix.com/results.php?st=WI) and one day it went from 7 or 8 theaters down to one. They've since added one more. Marcus Theaters said they are waiting until Monday when their president and booking agent get a chance to see the film. Then they'll decide if they are going to show it.

Fortunately that's the only state where that's happened. All the others have either gone up or stayed the same. Here's the top 10:

California - 99
Texas (hehe) - 41
New York - 37
Florida - 33
New Jersey - 30
Illinois - 27
Pennsylvania - 24
Michigan - 21
Massachusetts - 20
Arizona - 17

17. No it hasn't
Marcs seemed to be confirmed at the beginning of this week. Now, apparently, they'll review it on Monday. They want the profits. They'll show it.

11. Nowhere - LOL
The biggest city that Crawford is close to is Waco, but it's not playing there. That's no big surprise. Waco is very Baptist and very conservative. Crawford is pretty much equidistant between Dallas and Austin. About 2 1/2 to 3 hours either way.

14. I just saw some Nevada listings for the first time
4 theaters listed in Las Vegas (3 Century theaters and one Crown theater), and one in Reno (a Century theater).

First time any were listed.

15. I already commented on another post , but

I'll put a short note here. Deerfield Beach, Florida already has it on one of the theater's big out door signs. I thought it was playing now! They are selling advance tickets which must mean they think there is going to be a big turn out. I hope so. hmmm, I thought Moore looked a bit goofy on Letterman last night. LOL!! He didn't help himself by saying that when he gave his Oscar speech accusing Bush of lying us into Iraq that he "thought" he was right, but didn't know for sure until later. Paraphrased, so I hope someone else watched and can tell it better than I did.

:)
