What was Chimpy thinking in that classroom on 9/11?
Someone on another thread suggested it's "making political hay" to say in hindsight that anybody would have done differently than Chimp did, or didn't, when given the news that morning....

So, if it's even conceivable that it was reasonable for him to sit there after being told the country was under attack, what was the reason? What was he thinking?!? "We're under attack....."

"Okay, I guess they'll let me know if I should do anything" -?

"Uncle Dick must have it under control" -?

"Whatever it is can wait, I'm really into this goat story" -?

8. Bush, Juanuary 5, 2002:
Anyway, I was sitting there, and my chief of staff -- well, first of all, when we walked in the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And, you know, I thought it was pilot error. And I was amazed anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And, you know, something was wrong with the plane or, you know.

Anyway, sitting there listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, "America is under attack."

And in the meantime, this teacher was going on about the curriculum, and I was thinking about what it meant for America to be under attack. It was an amazing thought.

But I made up my mind that if America was under attack, we'd get them.

15. People "amazed" by their own thoughts often ARE high on something.
The video of Bush makes him look MIGHTY uncomfortable though -- like he was told to JUST SIT THERE. What were they waiting for, I wonder? The Pentagon hit? Why did it take so much longer than the other two?

20. Right, as in "Then I heard these little ringing sounds
and everybody had phones up to their ears, and I thought how amazing it was that they were talking to people who aren't even in the room... And there was this psychedelic poster on multiplication and division, and I was thinking how amazing numbers are..."

I don't know what they were waiting for, but he was apparently waiting for a direct order.

30. What did he know and when did he know it?
So the transcript says:

Anyway, I was sitting there, and my chief of staff -- well, first of all, when we walked in the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And, you know, I thought it was pilot error. And I was amazed anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And, you know, something was wrong with the plane or, you know.

Since the footage of the first plane hitting the North Tower of the WTC was not available for several hours after the impact, what was Bush watching? It couldn't have been the same television coverage any of us were seeing.

So how did he manage to see the first aircraft impact the WTC?

Anyway, sitting there listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, "America is under attack."

What briefing? Bush was clearly not in a briefing—he was sitting in the classroom—when Card entered.

Just another set of questionable circumstances for conspiracy theorists to feast upon.

31. Ya know, something that always stuck in my mind

besides some of the oft stated things, like he said that he saw the 1st plane hit, etc.

He said, I believe, "..the TV was obviously on."

I've thought at the time, why would he say that? I know, I know, he screws up so much, everyone wonders why he says one thing or another, but my point is, why that exact phrasing?

"..the TV was obviously on."

It sounded exactly like someone who was being "coached" on their testimony and accidently repeated, vebatim, the "Coaches" words, something similar to when Reagan was reading off of a sheet one time and accidently read something in regards to how he should react.

"..the TV was obviously on."

Coaching technique, right? He repeated his coaching, verbatim.

Thoughts?

32. if I had been president....
...i would have immediately dropped the book, and stood up, and said 'excuse me', and run quickly out of there and go into hyper overdrive presidential emergency mode. shouting orders, demanding answers, raising hell, and cursing.

i damn sure wouldn't have sat there for 20 minutes like a child waiting for orders from his parents.

it's proof that he is not really the president at all. and dick cheney is.
