We need Plame indictments before the next terrorist "attack"...
If BushCheney is indicted (or unindicted co-conspirator) I would feel a lot safer because the wheels of justice (if there still are such things) would act as a restraint on any October-like surprises he has in store for us this summer. Bush would truly become an emperor with no clothes. He would be instant TOAST. He could then be forced to resign due to health problems.

OTOH, if there is an attack, or even a code Red, there will be tremendous pressure NOT to indict and rally round the flag, boys. Martial Law, here we come.

The next few weeks should be very telling. The fate of our democracy may very well rest on the shoulders of Mr. Fitzgerald.

I never thought I would feel sympathetic to the CIA.

Valerie, this one is for you.

We need to get those tectonics moving real soon now.

1. Good point.
The July 14 break in the case will be cause for great celebration.

4. What is going on on 7/14?
I'm thinking they hold off on indictments until after the election to avoid a political appearance.

5. Why July 14? What's its significance?

... other than being Gerald Ford's 91st birthday?

2. I agree that something should be done

after all, we little people have taught our children not to lie and to be honest and upstanding.

However, I am sad to say, I do not see it forthcoming

It is obvious to me that this group will never be brought to justice.

I intuitively think they will actually get away with all of it, simply because they have the money and the power that is supported, of course, by all of that money.

In America, money is the god.

Historically, have any really been punished for these types of immoral and unethical crimes? Like Prescott Bush, for instance?

Under this regime, they have committed horrible crimes against the human race as well as against our American Consitution, which in this case means absolutely nothing to any of them--right or left.

So why do we, the little people, keep believing in it as we were taught as little wide eyed, naive children in history class?

It has all been a lie. It is a shock to realize how much of a lie we have embraced as our "history"

They have the very best of high paid, clever, embedded lawyers than million and millions of dollars can buy to get them off.

They will not see one bit of any sort of disgrace and they most likely will see more money in their bank accounts after they write their books and sell them when they leave office.

They know this. They are playing the part until then and they look down with sneering contempt upon we the little people.

Note, the slovenly , quite unintelligent, Laura Bush, the banal woman who is touted as the American "comforter" travelling all around Europe being honored in diplomatic circles on OUR money and who apparently loves being touted as such while never doing a damn thing for the human race since she married a Bush.

We pay for trash like that to go to Europe and represent us. While they do everything they can to kill us or our children as they use them to get more money into their coffers.

I am willing to bet one hundred thousand dollars on it.

The best thing we can do, as the little people, the disadvangaged workers whose unions have been impotent for years, is to try to buy a piece of property somewhere where it is affordable and grow our food and grow our children aside from the corrupted, corporate friendly Christian religions and aside from the slavery their own government would impose upon them by forcing them to live off the basic salary they would make in a Wal Mart or a McDonalds or force them to join the military and be willing to die for a college education.

Is that pathetic for the richest most powerful nation in the world?

Take your children, buy some land, grow your food, organically, and instill a sense of community, sharing and mutual caring amongst your neighbors who feel the same without a religion invading upon youir natural instincts for survival.

We are only here on this earth for a very short while. It demands we contemplate what exactly is it we would like to do or contribute while we are here. Do we think we need to pay back something? That would be responsible, reflective and intelligent.

It is not the conservative view I would want to contribute to. It is NOT capitalism gone amok that I would contribute to. That view is so shallow and so unsatisfying as to cause one in their golden years to laugh at the whole thing and where we have been manipultated so far into this shallowness.
It is the loving, the sharing and the back to basics view I would like to contribute to.

Corporate abuses have ruined this country. It has become a shallow and greedy executioner. It has made us into clowns, strivint clowns without any sense of soul.

I submit, there are plenty of people in this country who claim to be against the corporate welfare espoused by the Republicans, and also the Democrats who secretely wish they could capitalize on that and become rich themselves off the same system

Plenty who still believe in the great American dream myth and will strive and strive to become like the rich Republicans, and in the process lose their soul and their being. Perhaps if they do become wealthy after all that striving, they will in the end become Republicans.

Greed is great

3. The concerns you mention are very real.
Bush/Cheney may be facing the biggest threat to their political existence and I wouldn't put pushing an October MIHOP to July past them. Check out my thread:

Martial law could very well be the only option for Bush/Cheney's survival. But could they actually pull it off successfully?
