How long do you think it will stay in the top 10? It will certainly be #1 when it opens, but Spider-Man 2 opens five days later, and that will certainly top the list (with help from me, I might add). So do you think F9/11 will hold it's own against more mainstream flicks like Shrek, Harry Potter, and Spidey?

1. Highest-grossing documentary ever.
My guess.

I think it will be #1 or #2 this weekend, then will drop to 5 or below, then drop accordingly.

2. There's no way it can be #1 when it opens
It's only showing on 500 screens, vs. 3000 screens that the major releases are on. I think it will definitely be in the top 10, though.

4. What WILL be noted is the per-screen gross.
That'll be significant, and will likely determine whether it's put into wider release (I suspect it will).

3. It will do Great, but it probably won't be No. 1 Next Week
It is opening huge for a documentary, but it is still less than 800 screens, that's less than one-third a typical opening.

It will set all sort of records for a documentary, and it may very well have the best average gross per showing, but it still is on less than a third, and maybe only a fourth of the screens another premier.

If the standard we are setting is it has to be No. 1 at gross receipts we are giving it a goal too high to meet IMO.

That being said it will quickly become the most successful documentary of all time at the box office. Just don't expect it to make $30 million its opening weekend.

7. It will be in theaters for a few months
Smaller art house-type films and documentaries usually do.

I don't think it will be out of the question that it could make at least $100 Million in it's theater run. After all, I haven't heard as much talk about Spiderman 2, and that could pull in at least three times that much.

8. It'll be interesting to see how it does overseas
I imagine quite a few people over there are waiting with bated breath to see it.

9. It will be low
It may make $40 million in theaters altogether, but it won't make more than that. It'll do well in DVD rentals/sales.
