I Registered 6 Progressives Today! Here is how.
1. I went to my county clerk and obtained the applications.
2. I talked to people.

2. I have a stack of
voter registration forms in my car. I pass them out at drive throughs - in grocery stores - sometimes young men think I'm trying to pick them up when I ask them "are you 18?". Any time I hear someone talking about ANYTHING I butt right in and ask if they are registered to vote and whip out a card.

5. I Don't Care What They Are!
A fraction of the population shouldn't be electing the president or anyone else. I will say the great majority of the people I have encountered are anti-Bush. The registration I do for A.C.T. now --- well, we only offer registrations to those who see things our way. :)

12. Something to consider about the forms versus being a deputy
At the grassroots forum at the Texas State Convention, the speaker made the point that better than passing out forms is being a deputy registrar and signing up the voters. Why? Because with the forms, one has to go make a photocopy of DL or SS card and send it back in.OTOH, every voter can become a deputy registrar within only a matter of minutes and then you can sign the person up immediately, not leaving it to chance that he or she won't send in the form. The speaker also made the point that then gives you an opening since you'd have the receipt for the voter to follow up a couple more times, first to find out if he or she got the voter reg card and second to find out about them actually getting to polling place.

Anyway, the deputy registration is free and takes only a few moments to do.

10. You're right!
usregimechange signed more people in one day then I've done in six months! Kudos to usregimechange! Reminds me of Mike Mulligan and Mary Anne.

Mike Mulligan was sure that his steam shovel, Mary Anne, "could dig more in one day than 100 men could dig in a week!"

11. I was surprised but had help...
We can all do this. Simply ask them what they think of Bush and then are you registered. If they like Bush who cares if they are registered.
