Kerry seems comfortable in his own skin.
The way he came off during his speech in Denver today and when greeting supporters he seemed comfortable and charismatic. He sometimes comes off as slightly stiff on T.V. But he seems much more comfortable with himself than Gore did. He did not even come of as stiff today. He seemed quite solid and charismatic. This guy should be able to beat Bush hands down.

1. I tell everyone who complains about Kerry being boring or stiff that
I wish they could see him in person. That he is a such a good speaker and as you said, comfortable in his own skin. Don't know why more of that doesn't come across on TV. Hopefully as the election draws closer, this side of him will be seen by more and more people.

2. yes, which is why he wont stop wearing his pink tie and
doing the other things he does that people attack as being elitist or whatever. he knows he has things that most don't. but he supports policies to help all people. and people who are priveledged should care for others.

bush on the other hand supports policies to benefit losers like himself while trying to put on a "common man" act. bush is no common man. he is a guy who got by in life because of his dad's name and money. he has failed in everything himself and needed pappy and pappy's friends to bail him out.

john kerry used the opportunities he had to do good. he even volunteered to serve in vietnam which most people who came from the same place he came did not do.

6. ;(
My friend came over to spend the night because we were going to get up in the morning and see Kerry speak at the Univ. of New Mexico but I just saw in the news that he cancelled. He has to fly into Washington for a vote. Perfectly understandable, but really disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing him speak!

11. Well.
I thought that he made a joke about Bush when Bush had the bike accident and said "Did the training wheels fall off?" It was mean, but it was at Bush's expense, so I don't care.

28. And in the New Hampshire Primaries
He made a joke to the crowd about how cold it was. Then he said, "Kind of makes you want to cuddle up to Dick Cheney for warmth, doesn't it?" Of course the crowd roared, "No!" and "Ewwwww!"

15. And it was a specific joke in reference to recent comments by shrub about
the "training wheels" of Iraqi democracy, but that sailed right over the heads of most media.

17. That's why it was so funny.
It was a direct hit on Bush on multiple levels. Of course some Dems wanted to pretend Kerry never said anything so disrespectful. I still don't know if Kerry ever actually took credit for it. I hope he did.

14. This "comfortable in his skin" crap is the most annoying stupid claptrap
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 12:01 AM by Mayberry Machiavelli
I've heard repeated in a long time. I'm not busting on you, CD2004 you are very cool judging from your posts. But I'm sure that Ted Bundy was very comfortable in his skin, and in the skin of others too no doubt. (And he was a Republican, too!) I doubt if he would have been a very good president, although he was probably way smarter than shrubya.

That this has somehow become the most important criteria of a president, and having a beer and barbeque with them, just because we have a stupid idiot incompetent president, is very offensive to me.

19. That in itself does not mean anything.
It is an image thing that should appeal to the masses who thought Bush was affable and comfortable and Gore was stiff and uncomfortable. That's all. It is a plus, though it is hardly everything.

I understand the image and political strategy thing. This "comfortable/skin" thing has gotten my goat for a little while now.

26. Kerry is in his cups..
and making some serious points while BC provides a diversion.

The Stem Cell Therapy is a BIG issue and a popular one too. Everyone has a friend or relative that has a serious medical problem and they can relate back to him for supporting it.

Bushco has a joke writer for his speeches. Jokes seem to be the only thing he can truly remember.

I went to the theater sat night to see the movie "Control Room".. If anyone from Kerry's campaign is reading here. Please tell him to get a copy of that for future reference.

The movie is a documentary depicting the run up to the war. Specifically from March 17 03 to May 03..Lots of good clips there for campaign material, especially when a few of our soldiers are captured and Bush holds a press conf and forbids torture of our troops and demands they be treated under the rules of the Geneva Conv. I thought, I'd just about barf when he said that...The main thrust of the movie is from the Aljazeera perspective..filmed live as it was happening.. I saw it at a theater in Salem, MA.
