1. wooo hooooo
I am looking forward to seeing him get his ass kicked. Go Teddy Go Teddy!
Too bad they can't allow Robert Byrd to question him. Can you imagine the shots that brave man would shoot across the bow?

2. Let me tell you, watched the Daily Show's clip on PAABAH and now
watching the caricature of a man that is Wolfowitz... I don't know where our country is going... because I want to laugh histerically at both PAABAH and Wolfowitz... but then I realize that they ARE FOR REAL and both represent enormous dangers to our security and survival.

This guy spuns lies like cotton candy....

should put to rest Wolfowitz statement that SADDAM was the one that destroyed Iraq and WE ARE THE SAINTS rebuilding it!

5. This is the RW group of nutjobs that want to forbid people to watch
movies that they consider "left leaning" or where actors/directors/ etc. who they consider offending to RW ideals and PATRIOTISM. Censorship of sinful, communistic Hollywood is their enemy.
There is another thread on DU that takes you to the Daily Show showing this group for what they are. It is funny, but if you think it through, it is repulsive. That they are crazy, ignorant, stupid, etc. etc. doesn't mean they are not dangerous.
Here is the GD thread:

8. Skelton's delivery of question is so mild, low key, that it loses impact.
The questions are very good, but they kind of vaaaniiiiishhhh... and Wolfowitz tries to pretend he didn't hear them. I am glad that Skelton goes back to them and asks again. But if he were more forceful, he would have more time to ask questions.

9. Skelton asking "where did the money we gave Chalabi?" since
we found out he lied to us and he seems to be acting against US interests...
Wolfowitz: we will provide the senate a classified accounting of the money (SURE, SURE, we believe that) But Chalabi has helped us a lot. AND HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE PAID MONEY TO...now he tells us, of course we didn't suspect this, did we????

16. Wolfowitz has so much gall! We have done such a spanking EXCELLENT
job in Iraq that it inspires fear (and, he would probably say, envy, seeing as to how Iraq is not the "shining city on the hill") in Iran and all the other surrounding countries.
In my opinion they are terrified because the mess we have created is going to spill all over the ME.

17. John Spratt (D) asked a good question: if the army becomes strong
in Iraq who guarantees that they won't develop another general (I think he meant another Saddam) that will overrun the "established government" and take over.
Wolfowitz doesn't know how many Iraqis are enough, BUT THE IRAQI ARMY IS BEING DESIGNED TO ATTACK IRAQIS NOT EXTERNAL FORCES.

The reason is because they have so many insurgents. Let me tell you, I come from a country where the army ONLY duty has been to attack the population... what a sad picture.

20. Wolfowitz -- Iraq Needs BIOMETRIC ID Cards
(Paraphrase) In the long run, the borders are the Iraqis' responsiblity, but because the borders are so easy to cross they need BIOMETRIC cards for Iraqis.

I may be off on what he said, but that's what I swear I just heard him say.

(CSPAN 3 10:20 AM ET)

Yep, he's saying they need biometric IDS in Iraq.

Strangely enough, I don't think that will go down so well with the people of Iraq.

He has not gotten answers from previous sessions with Wolfowitz:
WHO IS GOING TO BE IN CHARGE: prosecutions, jails, special operations, Iraqi intervention forces in civilian areas. WHO IS GOING TO BE ISSUING THE ORDERS WHEN VIOLENCE IS GOING TO INCREASE.

He is citing South Korea.
Abercrombie says: we are not talking about South Korea and it is not a parallel situation.

Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 10:32 AM by underpants
This has been debunked over and over. The guy they "harbored" was in jail and was offered as trade bait repeatedly, no takers. The FBI questioned the guy and determined after a short period of time that he was not too bright and was just an extra set of hands. They drove him back to the apartment building he shared with his mother or grandmother and the same one that just happened to be where the bombers lived, they got him to go along with them and used him to load the bomb into the van. No material importance.
