Todays Traitors (Dems who voted against Lautenberg)
Here is a list of the senate Democrats who voted with the repigs on the Lautenberg bill:

Todays Traitors:

Bayh
Biden
Breaux
Carper
Landrieu
Miller
Nelson

Dems Who Did not Vote:

Clinton
Dodd
Kerry (it's ok for JK)

I exhort my fellow DUers to write to the above-mentioned senators and remind them they are Democrats. In this time of severe national crisis, we need cohesiveness and unity. Not crossing the aisle to vote with the repugs to continue censoring America's heroes coming home for their eternal rest. Shame on the "slimy seven"!

5. My guess is the one to continue censorship of photos
of the returning "Transfer Tubes" - aka coffins- from the PNAC festivities - aka- *'s War.

9. Reagan Yes; Troops No ?????????????????
it was widely recognized that viewing Reagan's flag-draped coffin was an honor bestowed upon him for his service to the nation ...

by what twisted logic do we not so honor our troops who have paid an even higher price ?????????????????

11. Call or write to them and tell them
However you do it, make sure they know your thoughts. That's a very good issue you raise.

16. will do
of course, we know the real reason they voted as they did: politics ...

do i notice a certain "southern flavor" to those on the list ??

whether it's right or wrong, clearly these centrist democrats didn't think their constituents would support them if they voted "Yes" ... pathetic, isn't it ??

how can we know the true cost of war when our Congress votes to hide the evidence by burying it ??? democracies fail when they don't have an educated, informed electorate ... our Congress just voted to make us all a little more ignorant ...

18. 'Southern flavor' indeed
Which is why I think the feedback is so critical. If the only people ranting in their ear are freeper types, what else should we expect? That's why I'm for ranting at both Democratic AND Republican congresscritters. They *BOTH* should hear what we liberals think -- that we don't have established think tanks backing our views is a handicap right now, but it's being corrected. :)

10. I'm going to get a reputation but...why is it okay that Kerry missed
the vote? Didn't he cancel an event in NM to be sure not to miss the symbolically significant veterans vote?

13. The Vet bill, like the Labor bill
is a show vote to try to embarrass Kerry if he doesn't show by strategically having it fail to pass by 1 vote. The Lautenberg bill should've passed without him.

21. So...
Every time kerry misses a vote it is because the repugs are trying to embarrass him?

There is a simply solution to that -

kerry could fucking do his job and VOTE!

24. Do you know how much effort it takes to run a national campaign?
The man doesn't need to be flying back to washington every 2 seconds for votes that the Republicans will win anyway.

12. Not a surprise about Bayh - long standing Iraq War cheerleader
I believe he still claims that we will find WMD. Of course he wants to hide public view of the real consequences of his blind support of these failed policies.

He doesn't even have a tenth of the integrity of that of his father.

17. Biden and Lieberman flip flop on which side of issues they fall
can't count on either to be completely spiney nor completely enabling. Doesn't surprise me that they split on this.

19. This is a pretty poor test-of-unity issue.
It's a political stunt issue. I have nothing against the occasional political stunts, but there's no point trying to make them core party issues.(I would have abstained on general principle.)

22. Republicans John McCain and Olympia Snowe voted YES
so did Lieberman. hmm...

While Lieberman is a right-wing war hawk, on other issues he can be quite progressive.

As for the Dems who voted NO, what in the hell was Biden thinking? And kindly old Carl Levin too!

Clinton and Kerry were busy but they should have found time to vote on this extremely important issue that could topply shrub.

And these are the names I hear that Kerry should consider? No thanks. P.S. Thank you John Edwards for the yes vote!
