I think everyone can agree that this is TOTALLY unneccesary
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 03:12 PM by underpants

Shin Young-ja(L) and Kim Jong-kyu, parents of South Korean Kim Sun-il who was kidnapped by Iraqi militants in Falluja, cry after hearing that their son had been killed, early June 23, 2004. An Iraqi group carried out its threat to behead the South Korean hostage, Al Jazeera television said on Tuesday. It showed a brief extract of film showing a group of heavily armed gunmen, standing over a kneeling, blindfolded figure dressed in orange, saying they were about to carry out their threat. 5. it is unnecessary to stick a camera in someone's face
while they grieve.

A big part of my crisis-intervention work is keeping the press off of people and blacking camera shots after an incident.

7. "They" did the same thing with Nick Berg's father
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 03:17 PM by underpants
I can't find the image now but there was a picture of Michael Berg slumped onto the ground after a reporter walked up to him in his front yard and told him the sad horrible news.

Pathetic.

9. it's SOP
we have a lot of child drownings here in Phoenix, and there is always some reporter shoving a mic in a aprents face, asking them "How do you feel?"

I am not allowed to touch reporters, but I am encouraged to stand between them and victims and block their shot.

8. Who let the camera in?
Totally unnecessary, and unkind, and just rude, to be there when these people are grieving over something so terrible.

10. After seeing 9/11 happen
i really didn't think there would be anything that i couldn't stomach until now. I can't tolerate be headings, can't do it. The terrorists that continue to use this tactic must already know that, they have found the Achilles heel.

This one hit more worse than the others i think because we saw the video of this poor man pleading for his life. I can't begin to imagine what these people are going through but they have my most sincere condolences.

11. If your dead your dead but it is so sad.
I do hope that all Am see this orange suit for what it is. Also that they behead is very Middle East and I can recall the horror of reading about WW2 and it being done in Asia to the people on the Bataan Death March. I think they knew that form of death really gets us up-tight.

whether it is the terror of 'shock and awe' or the militant jihadists.
