Did Ashcroft Brush Off Terror Warings
NBC is reporting this now

What happens if Ashcroft lied under oath? What happens if they all did? And why isn't anybody being held accountable for anything?

He's from Missouri, you know. That's where I'm from. He lost his last election to a dead man.

I always knew the man had zip personality - but I didn't realize how crooked he was.

He's not Evangelical - he's Pentacostal. I'm not sure exactly what the difference really is. But the Evangelicals make fun of the Pentacostals for their speaking in tongues and holy roller stuff.

2. Fear
When congresscritters realize that the entire misadministration is guilty of perjury and lying, the idea that the whole thing needs to be replaced, it become a matter of fear. Nothing looks like a coup more than replacing an entire administration.

The crime is so large that the punishment is beyond what this country has ever had to deal with, and I think that is exactly what they were counting on.

One or two fall guys need to be targeted. Cheney and Rumsfeld are my options. Both should resign and be sent to jail.

4. Even the Republican Governors are Getting Caught
I wonder if it is possible that not only will this adm. be thrown out for dishonesty - but the Senate may also change hands back to the Democrats? I don't hold out much hope for the House.

What they did to Clinton was ghastly enough. But this whole thing from top to bottom is just plain rotten.

Ashcroft went after Greenpeace (which is a serious crime in my book. Those guys are my heroes) using a law from the 1800's.

And not one terrorist has made it into court. Course you would have to have a lawyer and a phone call and a charge against you to make it into court. They can't make a decent case against anyone so they just make them disappear forever.

Man, this is so bad.

requested that funding for terror related work in the FBI be REDUCED prior to 9/11.

It is just so hard for me to believe that we have so many liars and crooks in the WH at one time. I'm not sure there is anyone with any ethics. I have been so disappointed in Powell - he was the only one I still had hope for - and now I'm not sure about him.

Now, I don't believe anything that anyone says. I just start checking it all out for myself.

We're talking about a commission, Congress, Judiciary and Executive controlled by partisan Repukes, so probably nothing.

Two-part answer. Ditto answer #2. If they held themselves responsible, most of the Repukes in government today would go to jail.

How much more evidence does the 9/11 Commission need before charging Ashcroft with perjury? And CondoLIESa Rice? Can they not do it before the final report? Hell, Kerrey practically called Rice a liar to her face! Ashcroft apparently can't take a breath without obscuring the truth as he did to Congress or telling an outright lie. What do these bastards have to do before they get their asses thrown in the slammer?

I am so pissed off about this story I just want to personally shove it down Ashcroft's throat.....anything about this man is really start to get to me on a very personal level right now :mad:
