Anyone know why Cheney used the "f" word?
I assume Leahey said something he didn't like, but what was it?

6. the wonkette report is much more coherent than the CNN report
Thank goodness for blogs.

Also, the CNN report uses bogus-neutrality, in which Democrats say Cheney is tied to Halliburton and Cheney denies it.

The report doesn't mention that Cheney still receives "deferred compenstation" checks from Halliburtion and still own stock-options in Halliburtion.

It's like reporting that Democrats say the earth is round and Republicans say the earth is flat, without saying more.

4. This is the wonkette account
Wonkette operatives tell us that the fighting words sprang from an exchange in which Cheney told Leahy he didn't like what Leahy had been saying about Halliburton, to which Leahy replied that he didn't like Cheney calling him a bad Catholic. So you'd see how "Go fuck yourself" is the only appropriate response.

Did you ever doubt that this phrase is right at the top of his personal vocab? I didn't, the guy looks perpetually on the verge of saying it. Someone finally bothered to report it that's all..

9. Bingo. Cheney probably says it all the time.
The press finally reported it. It's a sign that the kool-aid may be starting to wear off.

7. Because he's a classless moron who can't control his emotions?
Because he's a dipshit who has no respect for the Senate?

Because he wants to look tough to the chickenshit chickenhawk crowd that adores him?

There are many reasons....hard to nail it down to just one.

10. because he was scared and angry.
Faux news was equating him and his behavior to Agnew doing the dirty work for Nixon. Seems they believe (or want the masses to believe) that * will not lower himself to respond to the daily attacks by the dems so Chaingang is his attack dog, defending the admin and the nation. How heroic, what a crock!

12. how do you go from Haliburton to Catholic?
I'm not seeing this connection. Leahy has every right to criticize Cheney's robbing of the American taxpayer but Cheney has no right to criticize Leahy's religious piety.

Oh, and Cheney can go fuck himself.

14. Chaingang worships money - that's his religion so they both were
guilty of religious attacks. (imho)

13. The arrogant Cheney and the rest of BushCo are really feeling the heat...
Edited on Thu Jun-24-04 09:22 PM by Zinfandel
They thought with 9-11, and the illegal invasion of Iraq, along with the corporate media in their corner, they would just roll to a landslide victory, while touting their bullshit patriotism, Bush "the war president & hero", keeping the fear and terrorist threat's alive, Bush's huge war chest and a propped-up economy. They thought it would be over before it started.

But they are being exposed everywhere...Halliburton's frauds, Enron, 9-11 commission, No WMD, Fahrenheit 9/11, Torture, Iraqi war, Afganhistan, anti-Bush books turning up everywhere (and selling), the economy just limping along, As well as MoveOn.org, the intense Internet funding for Kerry, people tuning in to the web for the truth to share with friends & family, etc. etc.

They are now left with only a lie, that they must fight for and cling to until the election...the bullshit connection between Iraq and Al Quida.

It's getting very unexpectedly hot for these assholes! And we haven't even touched on the social and domestic issues, that BushCo is hoping we ignore.

So expect a big blast... a terrorist attack, planted WMD, capture of Osama, etc...along with desperate hi-level attacks, smears, lies, distortions and stealing another election through electronic Black Box Voting (BBV).

Still, a lot of work to be done until the election.

But you already know all this.

17. Because he's crude and uncouth, of course.

If a Democrat had said "Fuck you" to a Republican, it would be nonstop news.
Since Cheney said it, it'll be glossed over quickly.

:grr:
