Better self-control would in fact cut down on obesity and aids, would it not? I'm not saying that's right in every case, but it's dead on accurate in some instances.

even if I only partially agree with him.

1- The cure for obesity is not always about self control. There are many factors that can cause extreme weight gain.

2- You can be infected by many means outside of your control, not just by having sex or sharing needles. However, having said that, a little more responsiblity and control involving the typical Americans adults sex life could help save many many lives.

I am often disturbed by how indiscrimnate some people I have met can be in choosing sexual partners and how few of them ever get tested. This is a crisis that can largely be contained by responsible behavior in the US, in other areas there are cultural issues that play a role as well.

Self control would surely curtail a good amount of the problem. You cant get aids if you dont have sex or use needle most of the time. The same thing with food. His point is common sense basically, my cat could figure that out.
