Republicans React to "Fahrenheit 9/11"
<snip>

"Fahrenheit 9/11" opened nationwide on Friday. KSFY spoke with movie goers that night and most of them liked the film, saying it was "fantastic." But, this same group also said they shared the same opinions as Michael Moore going into the theatre. As expected, most Republicans don't take too kindly to Moore or this film.

What better place to get Republican reaction to "Fahrenheit 9/11" than this weekend's State Republican Convention? Jason Glodt, the Executive Director of the South Dakota Republican Party explains: "Just walking around the convention, I haven't found one person who has any interest whatsoever in seeing the movie."

In fact, Republicans are proving they are just as sharp on the attack as filmmaker Michael Moore. For many, the word "slanted" comes to mind. "It's a bias against the Republicans and certainly against President Bush," said Cindy Frederick, a Hamlin County Republican Delegate. Glodt agrees: "The movie's garbage. It's nothing more than liberal propaganda that is riddled with inaccuracies."

Moore's portrayal of President Bush as lazy and oblivious to terror warnings frustrates many. "He's a decent, kind, caring man. He is very compassionate to the people of this country and he believes strongly in the values of South Dakota and the United States," Frederick said. Quentin Riggins, a South Dakota Republican Party Volunteer elaborates: "There are discrepancies between what has been documented with the 9/11 Commission and what the movie actually says."

5. Isn't it amazing how ignorance is their only defense?
I saw Fahrenheit 911 today! Awesome work. I looked all around the theater and my eyes swelled up. People are seeing this and more, even the Freepers will, eventually. We have to challenge them, using their ignorance as the tool. "See it and then let's talk." "Don't speak out against Michael Moore or his movie until you've seen it. If you still don't like him and/or it, I'll hear you out why." Push 'em, push 'em and continue to push 'em.

When the Freepers start seeing this film, and they will, give it time, Bush's seat at the White House will become very LIMITED.

6. No doubt...
"Well... the conventioneers in SD might not wanna see the movie, but you can bet your ass there are rePuke strategists all over the country viewing it several times over in order to respond to this bombshell!!!"

But it will be a general denunciation. No specifics, lest they rouse a sleeping dog..

7. Have they come up with anything specific yet?
Only heard "Lots of lie", "totally slanted", but nothing specific at all.

9. So if they think it's lies and slander they will be filing lawsuits?
Won't they? If it is slander it should be easily proven, and they would all be fools not to sue with a slam dunk closed and shut case, right?

Oh maybe not, then it must be the truth.
They just can't handle the truth that Bush is venal, corrupt, stupid, and a warmonger to boot.

Morans.

10. I still haven't seen one RW review from anyone who's seen the movie!!
It's been out now for, what, three days officially? And still not one right-winger can debate anything that's in it, partially because they can't debate the truth, but mostly because not one of them has FUCKING SEEN THE MOVIE!

To any lurking Freeper assholes out there: Watch the film. Then we'll talk.

13. I love it...
They slam a movie they've never seen, obviously afraid of the message in it. But 6 months ago, any person who said Passion was boring, violent, or too bloody, was an "anti-Christian bigot who hates America and its heritage".

14. their work is really cut out for them.
Since it is mostly clips of Bush and admin statements, it will be hard for them to point to the lies, without calling attention to the liar-in-chief.

Ah, irony!
