I am sorry to say, but Sy Hersh would do the country a great favor if
he comes out with another article and gruesome pictures. Watching the National Review jerk (York) on C-Span this morning, they are trying to deny what is going on in terms of torture and KILLING. They are still saying it was not a big deal, we got VALUABLE information from the people we tortured (which is not true-- I was reading Nesweek last night and they said that the AlQaida guy who said there were links between Saddam/AlQaida told the torturers what they wanted to hear and now has recanted...maybe he needs more torture?)

Brooks AND the mellon-scaife guy .. I am getting so damned sick of that tactic..

It happens SO regularly, that it CANNOT be "accidental"..

In http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=post&forum=104&topic_id=1894135&mesg_id=1893123">another thread,I applied the death rate of the Iraqi population (1 in 1300) to the size of the US, because I was trying to imagine how devastating this must be for a country their size.

It's equivalent to over 200,000 dead in a population the size of the US.

If higher estimates for the Iraqi military losses are used, the number goes to over 400,000.
