The toddler who cried 'wolf!'
Yesterday I saw a newspaper. The front page headline was more shoveled cattle cack about "oooooooooh, we have another possible terror attack! But all our information is vaaaaaaaaaaaague so we'e not raising our sesame street approved color code to "urine yellow"! We have no specifics as to where. We have no specifics as to when. Just believe us and be sure to seal your doorways and windows to remain safe!!!!!!!!!!!! And buy on amazon.com!"

In the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf", when the boy's game got too far, nobody listened and the wolf ate the chickens and had a good meal... now think of what little toddler Ridge is doing. Assuming modern day Americans are like the townspeople in that story, the vote will still get out.

So, are you tired of toddler Ridge's game? What will you do when there is another attack?

Fuck 'em, I'm going to live or die trying. They will not scare me, even though anti-gay radical savages still do. :-)

1. I'm a tad more worried that...
...he'll cry wolf and the wolf really will be at the door. The terrorists are still out there, Adan they still do mean harm to the US. That, more than anything, is what pisses me off about this bullshit. In their rush for power and glory they have forgotten one simple thing. The fucking threat is real.

2. Yes, you are right.
By playing this "boy who cried wolf" game they are actually endangering the country because people stop listening after a while. They stop paying attention to the false terror alerts. And even worse, don't they know that the real terrorists keep up with all of this and know what's going on? Its incredibly irresponsible. Its criminal. They are screwing around with the whole country for political gain.

3. Threat is real
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 05:52 PM by tx.lib
and multiplied 1,000 times by the moronic policies of our moronic president. The unnecessary invasion of Iraq, the atrocities committed there, and the lack of focus on Bin Laden, the real villain- have placed us all in incredible danger. And, as you both point out, the real threat is being ignored by a public fed up with Bushco bullshit, and politicized terror threats. But of course, if the shit does hit the fan, these elitist assholes and their families will all be sent underground, while the great unwashed get fucked in the ass and left to die.
