Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison (on CNN)
Edited on Tue Aug-19-03 09:42 AM by Cush
(Who is in Iraq) On CNN just said that we had to go into Iraq in order help make the US Safer.

She also said that its just Saddam loyalists and a few foreigners who are doing this.

2. Keep repeating the meme
It's just a handful of Saddam loyalists, it's just a handful of Saddam loyalists. And a few foreigners. And a few foreigners.

What, no mention of the dead-enders? That's gonna upset them something fierce!

10. totally
I saw her a few weeks ago on CNN or MSNBC, I forget which. At that time she was blabbering about "justifications for war" and tried to hoist the tired old canar: but, but but "he gassed his own people!!"

I am sick to death of hearing about that one, which happened under RR's watch, CIA conplicity, normal trade w/Iraq upheld by RR, try to blame it on Iran at the time. No outrage 20 years ago when it happened.

5. Ugh...can Texas be represented by two more robotic * clones??
Between Hutchison and Cornyn, their next original thought will be their first. x(

But, going against * will get her unelected in a heartbeat, and I guess she's not to keen on returning to private life just yet.

Either that or they have a serious immigration problem in Iraq.

13. She doesn't answer letters.
She's one of my Senators, barf. Here's a letter I wrote to her 4/21:

Dear Senator Hutchison:

I have had serious misgivings about the Bush administration's explanation and handling of 9/11 events and aftermath. Because the corporate media appears to be either controlled or motivated solely by self-interest, it has fallen upon us individually to demand accountability from our government.

There are many, many peculiarities from the fact that nearby air force jets were not immediately scrambled to Mr. Bush's odd lack of reaction when allegedly informed of events while reading to Florida school children. Then, we have Patriot Act apparently written in advance and members of Congress feeling pressured into passing it without even reading it. This has all the appearance of a sneak attack, not by an outside force, but by a rogue agenda by our own leaders. You need only look at plans written years ago by members of PNAC to see who may be involved. Just look at which PNAC members are today in government positions and look at their corporate ties. These are the same people who stand to profit from the war in Iraq. I do not for one moment believe this administration's stated reasons for this war, and even those have been mutated along the way for convenience and to keep the public in thrall. At the same time we just had to take an action in Iraq, our domestic situation is worsening and no one seems very concerned. I am sick and tired of footing the bill for someone's world domination power trip when our own people have no jobs, no health insurance, money is being cut from education, our veterans are being blindsided with benefit reductions, etc.

It is time to draw a line in the sand. It is time to ask the hard questions. Indeed we must, because democracy itself is at stake, and we must make our government accountable to the people once again. I'm providing a link (just one of many I've found) outlining the damning evidence against the administration. I beg you to look at this information and draw your own conclusions. Concerns about the very foundations of our liberty should not be partisan. Please let me know on which side of that line you are going to stand.

Sincerely,
--------------------
I never received a response. However, I've received two canned responses to two canned letters I sent recently as part of a group effort.

14. I thought it was interesting that she said we needed help in Iraq.
She commented on the need to bring in other nations in the nations-building process. I don't remember her specifically identifying the UN, though. She's a POS Bushbot.

15. How are all these foreigners getting in?
Don't we have control of the borders? Did we assign Saddam loyalists to run our checkpoints? Did foreign Saddam loyalists discover the miracle of invisible fabric? Maybe the foreign Saddam loyalists can run really fast and that's how they keep slipping in. How fucking pathetic is our military that we cannot handle this tiny handful of men? Do our soldiers need gloves with better grip? Do we need stick-um? So far this handful of Saddam loyalists has killed armfuls of our men. Just imagine what this elite handful of men could do if they had our weapons. Saddam sure has a lot of loyalists - it's looking more and more like he really did win that election unanimously - look at all his fans.

16. Some falsehoods are so hugely disconnected with reality ...
... that it's virtually impossible to make sufficient connections to even discuss them. Even to entertain a rational discussion of such insane claims is to become a bit insane oneself.

18. Mary Kay Bailey
Kay Bailey is the epitome of the Mary Kay "Stepford wife" types. She will never go against the wishes of her party or her men. She is content to follow behind, cheer lead from the sidelines, and let the men make all the tough decisions. It's the southern baptist way. She is the true symbol for republican woman, representing a false sense of power. She makes me sick. I'll take a Hillary Clinton any day over a repuke zombie woman like "Mary Kay".
