I think I found Bob Boudelang's soulmate
http://www.timesdispatch.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=RTD%2FMGArticle%2FRTD_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1031776661682&path=%21editorials%21letters&s=1045855935005

Ego Explains Left's Hostility
Editor, Times-Dispatch: Brad Capps raised some excellent questions in his letter, "Americans Must Unite, Stand Together." I've had those same thoughts as well. What a waste that many Americans spend so much time and energy criticizing and dividing this nation instead of supporting and uniting it!
The Michael Moores of America should shut up and help solve problems or pack up and move to France permanently! We're sick of the whining and finger-pointing. As to why our society refuses to unite during this time of war and internal strife, the answers to Capps' questions can be summed up in three words: ego, power, and control. Democrats would never own up to the fact that their man, Slick Willie, allowed terrorists to have their way while he was President for eight years, thereby creating the mess we're in now. Leftists will not support our troops because they would seem weak and satisfied with the status quo if they did - a huge no-no to their collective egos. They are concerned only about who's running the show and when they will have their turn in the big house. It's all about power!

Never mind that we law-abiding, decent, honest, hard-working citizens suffered through eight years of Clinton's mess, which made the U.S. the laughingstock of the world. The left is so spoiled and arrogant from having so much power that it cannot stand to see someone else with it. The mainstream media, Hollywood (Moore's outrageous anti-Bush propaganda film, etc.), rich Yankee snobs, TV talk shows, and the like all support the radical liberals and they'd do anything to gain control! Hopefully, Americans will wake up and finally realize that, despite our differences of opinions, we must work together for the good of all, not just the chosen few. Christina Barksdale. chester.

1. But then there is this in the same paper
Let's Hope Cheney Keeps On Tickin'
Editor, Times-Dispatch: President Bush says Dick Cheney "can" be President, implying that John Edwards is not qualified.
This is all I have to say:

Pray for the continued health of Cheney; George Bush is but one heartbeat away from the presidency. Alice Looney. richmond.

2. and this-U.S. Has Sunk, Yes - For Other Reasons
Editor, Times-Dispatch: This is in response to David Gould's letter, "Just How Low Has the U.S. Sunk?" Gould wondered what has happened to his country. My list is a little different, but I'm also wondering what has happened to our country:
The Vice President using the f-word on the Senate floor and seeing no need to apologize to anyone for it;
American citizens rationalizing the abuse of Iraqi prisoners;
The Patriot Act;
The Commander-in-Chief saying, "Bring'em on," and then wondering when the insurgents will stop killing our troops;
"The Swan," "Fear Factor," "The Simple Life," and other "reality" TV shows;

Halliburton and corporate greed;
Churches being asked to turn over their membership directories to a political party;
Passing Homeland Security legislation but not fully funding it and bankrupting localities that are left to deal with it;
Dismantling environmental laws to benefit corporations;
Believing, and never questioning, anything that comes out of our President's mouth simply because he's the President and labeling those who disagree with him traitors and un-American. Lori Krenik. richmond.

3. As far as laughing stocks go. . .
1) The rest of the world laughed at us not because Clinton had an affair, but because we made such a shitfest out of it.

2) I'd rather people laugh at me than hate me.

16. Yeah I remember at the time
reading in the paper several reactions from other countries (mostly European) in which they were just howling with laughter at all the total tight asses over here who were having STROKES over Clinton's BJ.

Now THAT was embarrassing!! I wanted to take out a full page ad saying "Fellow Americans: GET A FREAKING GRIP!!!! We didn't elect him HUSBAND of America!!!"

Geez.

18. We *may* have been the world's laughingstock under Clinton
But we're the place everybody wants to blow up under Bush.

Which do you prefer?

6. I thought you were going to point to
Tom DeLay's spokesman Jonathan Grella, who said that questions about DeLay's dirty dealing with Enron and others were just "caricature assassination."

Some weeks "Bob" almost seems to write himself....

12. That's actually WHAT HE SAID
according to published news reports...which suggests that's what he had in the handout...

And Bob is a Republican team leader, so maybe the team is following him now...

10. Holy Crap! I'm a leftist....
and I had no idea that I was not a " law-abiding, decent, honest, hard-working citizen". Christ! Here I've been paying taxes, obeying the law and telling the truth when clearly as a leftist I had no reason to. Damn! What a wasted 33 years.

Perhaps this is a bit harsh, especially coming from a liberal hippy-tree-hugger but it is time to go bare knuckles on these people. And I mean that literally. Debate is all well and good, but when they start telling me I'm a liar, a cheat, a social deadbeat, etc. just because of what I believe in, they'll find that my pacifism extends only to armed state-on-state conflict.

13. Love it!
"Christ! Here I've been paying taxes, obeying the law and telling the truth when clearly as a leftist I had no reason to. Damn! What a wasted 33 years."

It reminds of the moment when I realized that, as someone who does not believe in heaven or hell, I have never engaged in wanton acts of hedonism when clearly I had no reason not to.

Sigh -- and I've wasted a lot more years than you have.

Dick Little's Canadian Beef

FREEDOM'S JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR NOTHING LEFT TO BOMB!
I can't wait until the war on terror is over and there's no more terror, ever. Won't that be just the cat's friggin' pajamas?

The States really must be the Greatest Democracy in the World, because by hook or by crook it managed to keep Al Gore out of the White House. Imagine if having the most votes actually counted for something, what a bloody nightmare that would be. Sure, Gore deserves credit for inventing the Internet (now, the porn comes to me - how sweet is that?) but American politics is best left to the Bush family. If you don't want to blow something up and get rich doing it, then get out of the way. And Georgie's doing a helluva job. The terrorists "hate our freedom" he says, so he's making Americans safer by taking them away, one freedom at a time. Pretty soon, the terrorists won't have any reason to hate Yanks at all, and the US can bomb away without a care in the world. That's what I call a man with a plan.
Each issue here http://www.frankmagazine.ca/passim/
has one of Dick Little's beefs, for those seeking obscure entertainment. ;)

FORTY FUNERALS AND A WEDDING!
Goddamn, I just heard how the Yanks blew up a wedding of some forty-odd Iraqistanians. Seeing how Mr. Bush feels about the sanctity of marriage, the only logical conclusion to draw is that it was a gay wedding. And yet they keep blathering about how stackin' 'em in a naked pyramid is a fate worse than death. A nation of deviated preverts loving every minute of it, more like!

And let me guess: they was firing weapons into the air to celebrate, right? Maybe they forgot, but there's a new sheriff in town, and he don't much like such unauthorized displays of joy. If the Iraqers don't like it, they can go back where they came from. Unless it's Canada.
