3 Deregulated Industries (Energy, Airlines, Telecom): 3 Clusterf*cks

All deregulated, all overrun with corporate curruption, greed, and the general mistrust of the American people.

I'm not a genius, nor will I ever claim to be, but this is a pretty open and shut case. Deregulation doesn't work. It breeds corruption and leads to a total disregard of the well-being of the populace.

Hell, even my industry (the financial industry) has seen some deregulation and what was the result? Anyone familiar w/ Jack Grubman?

P.S. All credit to Tandalayo Sheisskopf for bringing this point to my attention. Great stuff...

2. I get into this issue with a relative

her first reaction is to accuse me of being Communist.

I then counterargue that I want antitrust enforcement, regulation of natural oligopolies and corporate tax collection, like in the US, like in the fifties (I usually repeat "like in the fifties" three or four times).

That usually shuts her up because she thinks the US was pretty good in the fifties.
