Electronic voting machines in GA
Hello DUers! Looking for some help/suggestions on where I might send a GA Secretary of State "fact/myth" sheet on electronic voting. I'd like to put this information to the sleuths who regularly post on here to get their input on the sheet's veracity - it was being handed out by Cathy Cox's (GA SOS) office as the definitive statement on the matter. Please feel free to send me a private message with your email so that I can send the .pdf scan to you for your input.

Cathy Cox spoke at a lunch I went to a short while ago and did her best to minimize any concerns about electronic voting, labeling anyone who questions the machines and technology as part of the "conspiracy crowd." Total bullshit to me, but anyhow, take that for what its worth. She's a Dem, but at least on the electronic voting, I do not agree with her.

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions on where to route the information.

1. well in government there's a saying
"the appearance of impropriety is the same as impropriety"

I would remind her that if you can't prove you aren't part of the vast right wing conspiracy then you probably are. Seriously, can you imagine if companies and individuals paid our taxes that way? TRUST ME. That's all the money I earned. I swear. Anyone who thinks differently is a conspiracy-theorist.

No ma'am. There is definitely a reason that the government insists on a paper trail, however, WE INSIST ON A PAPER TRAIL TOO.

Her comment is just benight and stupid, regardless of her party affiliation.

3. You hit the nail on the head....
It's the whole "trust me" thing that drives me fucking crazy and completely pushes me away from believing anything they have to say. You should read the BS answer to their "myth" about paper receipts helping electronic voting - likely talking points supplied directly by Diebold - the machine I voted on on Tuesday.

2. Cathy Cox is corrupt

You can try but she's heard it all before. She's the Katherine Harris of Georgia. Bought and paid for by Diebold. The only thing you can do is accuse her of taking kickbacks. Although stealing her trash might be a good idea. You know she's got to have bank accounts somewhere to hide her "blood money". You might get lucky.

This website might help....
