1. Sounds like a retroactive prediction.
I can make those, too.

3. I predict something bad on 9/11/2001. Oh.
They are trying to spin this as "the explosives resemble those Saddam had recently..."

Yeah, riiiiight. Bastards!

2. Is this Chalabi saying today that he told Bremer this last week?
Chalabi is a compulsive liar, and he was the sole source on WMD to the NY Times, and he may have been the source for Tony Blair's 45-minutes WMD launch story.

5. I had a busted watch once
It was right twice a day.

Chalabi is the guy who fed Rumsfeld (and Miller of the NYTimes) the current fiction about Iraqi WMDs, al Qaeda connections, etc.

Chalabi is one of the main reasons we are in this mess.

Chalabi is also the one Jordan is trying to extradite out of Iraq so he can serve his 22 year prison sentence for the 32 counts of bank fraud he was convicted of in 1991.

If Chalabi told me the sky was blue, I'd open a window to confirm it.

7. Chalabi's warning shed a new light on this story
<snip>

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., had set up a meeting with Sergio Vieira de Mello, the chief U.N. official in Iraq, who was killed in the attack.

"I thought it was important to meet with the U.N. envoy and to discuss the U.N.'s role with the coalition forces in Iraq," Cantwell said.

But mechanical problems with the delegation's C-130 plane out of Jordan delayed the 1:30 p.m. meeting at coalition headquarters, Cantwell said, so she tentatively set up a telephone call with Vieira de Mello for later. The bomb went off at 4:30 p.m.

8. maybe Chalabi's guys did it
He isn't exactly the most popular person in Iraq and under any sort of fair election system he probably couldn't be elected dog-catcher so he had something of a motive.

17. How about:
1.) Getting the progressive factions of the UN out of Iraq

2.) Linking Saddam and al Qaeda in a current and pressing threat

20. Point one is well taken
Point two doesn't need reinforcement; most Americans already believe that there was a connection.

However, ridding Iraq of the UN will piss off most countries and put our poor standing with them in even worse condition than it already is.

14. He did...Insider Knowledge
There is a spate of editorials all asking why exactly the UN compound would have been bombed...
But early reports (scrubbed) or I would post had eyewitnesses say it was a 'rocket' and just curious if anyone else heard this tidbit...that the UN was having a press conference at the time (the Japanese caught the explosion on tape--heard it)
But US media didn't attend the UN press conference...and well apparantly a Rep. was suupose to be at 'ground zero' but delayed in Jordan due to mechanical failure...
Nawh...it would be tinfoil stuff to suggest this was a US action...
