3. It's absolutely up-to-date

The FEC puts out a data dump every Monday. newsmeat.com is updated by Monday night.

Why you may not find some donations:

- Only donations of $200 or more are a matter of public record.

- The campaigns are only required to file monthly. It then takes the FEC a few weeks to input the new data. Generally, there is a 6-8 week time delay from the moment a donations made to being published in the public record.
