4. Her statements to a "reporter" . She told him to "shove it" because
he was from a right wing rag that maligned her first husbands and the democrats daily.

6. you know...
I'm damned glad that the campaign put out the specific message that this guy was from a "right-wing rag". CNN keeps trying to portray him as some innocent, hard-working 'reporter' who was dissed by Theresa. CNN has yet to mention that his paper is owned by Scaife, or make the connection to how hateful this op-ed page 'reporter' (pfft) has been to her in the past. I'm glad the campaign is doing that, because they have to show the campaign's response to it.

7. I certainly hope the reporters
aren't crying because of what Teresa said. I get the impression that most Americans don't trust the media and could care less. It will probably go as far as *'s remark about that NY Times reporter.

9. Sad thing is, it makes Teresa Heinze Kerry and Hillary Clinton look good
I don't think Kerry looked confrontational. She was irritated by the way the Kerrys have been trashed in the PTR (wonder if we'll ever get any background on the Sciafe smear machine).

Hillary's interview this morning was one of the best I've seen her in.

20. Ya Know, Bob Barr Seems Almost A Pleasant Site Now
He's been critical of this regime...as has Disco Danny Burton...on the Patriot Act and several other issues. I actually found myself agreeing with him...and had to have my head scanned immediately thereafter.

I'm on a CNN-Lite schedule this week...watching as much convention action on C-SPAN...especially the speeches the other networks either won't carry or will edit.

15. This is the perfect time to out the reporter
What did he write that pissed her off? What kinds of things does Sciafe usually do??? Where is the DNC rapid-response to GOP rapid-response?

Frickin Hemmer called the GOP spinners a "truth squad" earlier. Why don't they all just wear their Bush/Cheney buttons on air?

CNN's choice today was cover the most important missing person story of the week ('Hacking' - they love that name Im sure) or provide GOP spin on the Dem convention.

17. From WaPo
<snip>http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A14390-2004Jul26.html
"We need to turn back some of the creeping, un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics," the wife of Democratic candidate Sen. John F. Kerry (Mass.) told fellow Pennsylvanians on Sunday night at a Massachusetts Statehouse reception.

Minutes later, Colin McNickle, editorial page editor of the conservative Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, questioned her on what she meant by the term "un-American," according to a tape of the encounter recorded by Pittsburgh station WTAE-TV.

Heinz Kerry said, "I didn't say that" several times to McNickle. She turned to confer with Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and others.

When she faced McNickle again a short time later, he continued to question her, and she replied, "You said something I didn't say. Now shove it."

---
Sounds to me like the asshole hounded her until he got what he wanted. I called it papparazzi-style in another post. Haven't seen anything to change that opinion.

CNN needs to point out that there is a long-standing history with the editorial biases and attacks on her (and both her present and deceased husbands).

18. Colin McNickle isn't a reporter. HE'S A COLUMNIST!!!
And an ultra-conservative columnist working for a conservative newspaper. Teresa had every reason to worry that she was going to be taken out of context.

Here's a sample from Colin's DNC Notebook:

{i]Weather indicative of the Dems
Posted July 25, 2004 6 :53 PM

Saturday's Boston weather dawned rainy and unseasonally cool -- fall-like. Oh, Democrats are in town.

Sunday, it was still cool with sun but with sometimes-threatening skies.

Kind of like those Democrat programs that offer sun but, and as the Law of Unintended Consequences dictates, usually rain on just about everybody's parade.
***************************************

Fire away, Teresa.

This is not a journalist like Adam Clymer (he of Bush's "major-league asshole" moniker). As far as I'm concerned, McNickle can go McCheney himself.

19. The reporter was from The Tribune Review!
That's the paper that's owned by Richard Mellon-Scaife! When this is reported on they need to say what this paper is all about. Richard Mellon-Scaife is the biggest money person in the right-wing conservative movement. I wish she would have kicked the guy in the nuts. :toast:

22. I wonder
if the same people on DU who vehemently chided one of the Bush twins for sticking out her tongue at the media will do the same to Heinz-Kerry?

Will there be consistency?

I despise most of the media and love it when anyone derides them. I say "Go girl!" to both.
