Poll question: What Station Will You Be Watching Tonight?
I heard Fear Factor is being preempted for something or other.

Should be interesting.

31. Sweet, Alot Of Stations Just Use Upconverted...
480i/p and call it high def. There is nothing like 1080i though. One of the little things I noticed is how sweet that podium is. It looks like it's built like a tank yet it automatically adjusts to the speakers height. Also, like I said earlier, the sound is unreal. I have never heard sound that good from a live event .

35. Not So Much Democratic Stuff On It's Face...
but the 24hr news channel is straight as an arrow down the middle and if they do venture to the left or right it is most definitely to the left. Also alot of their (VOOM) Exclusive HD channels seem left leaning to me. I really enjoy it.

My Google search turned up http://www.c-span.org/watch/

But good luck getting a connection during Kerry's speech. I can't even get through now. So it'll probably be PBS for me, too.

11. The less well-known speakers can be the most interesting ...
... we get to see who the leaders of the party are -- out in the heartland. You will ONLY see those speeches (given by congress people and lieutenant governors and governors and others) on C-SPAN. You see a few major speeches and a LOT of Kerry-bashing, from what I've seen, on the cable news channels.

And the NETWORKS are WORTHLESS during the conventions.

So it's C-Span for me, all the way. I don't need some blathering talking head telling me how to feel about what I've just seen.

The Rev. David Alston -- member of Kerry's swiftboat crew -- who spoke the first night, was not shown on ANY of the network or cable shows. It was a fabulous, fabulous speech that could have swayed some undecideds toward Kerry. Only C-Span had it. Most of the country didn't see it.

13. I even heard republican butt-wipes
on NPR discussing how bad the convention has been for Boston, they read a bogus letter from someone from east L.A. who happened to witness Teresa Kerry's choice of elegant wine at a 5 star restaurant, and to top it off, how boring the speakers were and that it was a waste of time to watch.

It was disgusting.

44. That was the thrust of both segments.
The NPR commentaries were describing the Democrats as being bad for Boston, and therefore, bad for the Nation. They were also trying to undermine the thrust of several speeches; that rich or poor, there is a place for you in the democratic party.

They were describing the leadership at the 5 star restaurant as being elitist, and how vastly different they were from someone from east LA.

I could sense no value as news, or any true basis in reality. The sole purpose of these commentaries and stories was to bash the democrats as being out for the wealthy, and not the least bit interested the poor. The fact that it was an opinion that may represent a segment of the population was its only redeeming quality

My eyes have really been opened to how much control the extreme right really has on the media. CNN, and now PBS.

20. I like C-Span for the actual speeches, but like to hear some of
the comments on CNN & MSNBC. I appreciate David Gergen who seems to be fairly reasonable, and I like to see some of the guests each chanel has and how sharp they are. CNN had Ann Richards the other night, and I thought I heard someone was going to have Cuomo.

There are several I won't watch at all, and I just keep the remote in hand.

I think it's a bad move to totally stay away from anything but C-Span. It's like playing ostritch.

. . . because PBS cuts out everything but the headliners. :grr:

Keep C-Span running on your computer — then when PBS starts yammering opinions amongst themselves you can turn the volume down and catch the action on the internet. www.c-span.org

will never watch again.

How shameless can she be with all her condescing comments.

It was simply disgusting.

Only more disgusting will be after she cleans off her face from fellating bunkerboy every time he manages to not fart during the rupuke convention.

I am completely disgusted with these whores.
