O.K., to summarize the past month or so on DU
So let me get this straight, everyone's reservations about Kerry stem from the fact of his ill-advised votes for Patriot and IWR, so now he's painted as some kind of Evan Bayh-type DLCer. Funny, 'cuz when I read up on his career in depth, I see a guy who was a prosecutor that emphasized women's rights, gets rated at or near 100% along with Russ Feingold over the course of his career for his votes on environmental, women's issues, and public education and to boot is one of the more fiscally responsible senators (despite perceptions) along with Russ! Granted, he's a little more aggressive when it comes to foreign policy and crime than Feingold, but Feingold set the bar really high when it comes to Senators. If Bush fooled everyone last time with his "compassionate conservatism," let John Kerry sucker everyone into thinking he's centrist. In fact, Kerry, is probably underrated for knowing what it takes to win and he's doing a damn good job of hiding his true intentions. :) Politics isn't nice and I'm glad you're keeping up with the "moderate" charade for now, John, 'cuz deep down inside I know from the minute you get inaugurated, you'll govern like the northeastern, french-speaking liberal from Taxachussetts that you are!

1. I hope you are right!
That is why he has my vote--because I am hoping that he will govern like a true progressive. I will be very disappointed if he turns out to be BushLite.
