You evil, evil, people, you...."Welfare programs", Wally? Like, farm subsidies? Tax abatments for corporations that bring a coupla hundred low-paying jobs to town and suck up vast portions of the water and strain the sewer plant, so that those low-payed employees have to take up the slack?

Two Americas? A civil war of lies

Have you noticed the Democratic rhetoric during the convention that we are "a divided America"? At least they have that right. They've contributed to this division through their promotion of abortion, homosexuality, removing God from public life, welfare programs, over taxation, racial strife, a failed justice system and failed public schools. I don't want to be aligned with such failures and will never give an inch to a liberal. And we need to be honest with ourselves as a nation: liberalism is a complete failure.

We are a nation divided, fighting a civil war of lies created by ambulance-chasing politicians. The political ideology of the Democratic Party is divide and conquer. The reality of this is we are engaged, as a nation, in a battle of good versus evil. Of course we're divided.

Wally Dellenbach, Delphi

I sure hope I never meet Ol' wally when I'm out on my bike. sounds like the kind of "Compasionate Conservative" that'd scream "Git off th' road, y'damn FAG!" right before he right-mirror ass-bumped me into the field....

1. When I was standing in line In Bowling Green OH
some jerk-off in a car almost hit someone walking down the street and shouted out, "You God Damn Liberals get out of my way". Sad.

2. My dad grew up in Delphi!
My Granddad owned the local newspaper, The Delphi Citizen. My dad and his 5 brothers and sisters got the hell out of there as soon as they could. Very small - one stoplight, and in the middle of nowhere Indiana. Pretty much a place that the train goes by.

Based on all of the stories I've been told I think you're right - it's not a place where a man would want to be caught wearing lycra biking shorts. If it ain't denim it ain't right.

4. I never get bothered in Lycra.
Hardly ever. And when I do, it's some "tourist" from the city...There may be something about a 6'4", 280# scowling man That brings out the coward in people, But I don't give Ol' Wally much credit for having common sense, or the brains God gave a damn puppy dog...
