Why I can't vote for my favorite candidate in CA recall
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 02:32 AM by Friar
I sent this to Arianna:P:

"I agree with you on every issue but I can't vote for you in this stupid recall thing. Why not? Because the republicans scare the shit out of me. If you run in two years during the Democratic primary, I will vote for you.

You are one of the best things about this country and I truly wish you could be our Governor or even President but I am a pragmatist and though it makes me shudder, I will vote no on the recall, yes on Bustamante (whom I can't stand).

I'm so sorry but I wish you had not thrown your hat into the ring this time. There's no one I'd rather have represent me in any office than you but it is imperative the fascists are stopped from stealing another election. I hope you will forgive me and understand my position. You are a great woman and I hope you will see fit to run for office in circumstances other than our present predicament."
