Lets Make Florida useless in the elections.
I mean lets drum up wins for Kerry in every state and not worry about how the outcome figures out to be in florida

3. We can win some of the heavy military states
The units are exhausted, and rumors abound that they are going to be redeployed. That's why Kerry is making comments about not sending more troops to Iraq.

Anyone living in one of those states needs to be active in letter writing to the papers, registering people to vote and poll driving.

4. I Cheney Florida every chance I get
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 12:27 AM by T Bone
I order NO PRODUCTS OR SERVICES from Florida AT ALL if I can possibly avoid it. I WILL NEVER vacation there a again. Mail offers with return envelopes to Florida ? I send 'em back empty if the business is paying the postage. Magazine offers with a return address of Florida? No way. Ain't gonna happen. Orange Juice? Screw it. There are plenty of juices on the shelves from Blue States that have Vitamin C added. When Jeb is gone from the guv's office and his snarky brother is back in TX too, I might reconsider.

Can anybody else think of anything else Florida I can boycott ?

9. Sorry
I don't get the hatred for Florida. Not all of us did this. And seeing posts like this does nothing to help. My husband and I bust our asses trying to get votes for Kerry. I finally convinced my mother who vote for Bush* in 2000 to vote for Kerry this time. We post and talk to people all the time and then to see posts like this. But worse is the boycott post above. WTF did I do to deserve having my state (born and raised here and raised 4 kids here) boycotted??? What did we do to deserve this? We have to live too. My kids need an education just like everyone elses does. THEY didn't do this. It all just makes me sick.

14. I was in Florida
during the 2000 election.

Don't hate the people. Many of the Boca seniors were seriously ticked when they realized that Gore was the *third* hole down.

11. please DON'T write off florida!
if bush wins florida and ohio, he has roughly a 50-50 chance of getting re-elected... assuming the electoral map in november looks like it does today.

BUT, if kerry wins either state, bush is screwed. so i would suggest we do the exact opposite. let's focus a great deal of our energy on these states! after all, bush only "won" florida by like 538 votes, and he has like a .1 percent lead in the latest poll.

12. it may end up that way anyhow . . .
I certainly think we should fight hard in Florida and everywhere else, but I also think that Kerry may be heading for a landslide victory that could lessen the importance of some of the key battleground states . . . let's hope so . . .

13. Wanna know a great thing?
We already have a great distraction going on right now in other states. With just Ohio or Florida, we win. Meanwhile, Bush is now forced to defend Arizona, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee.. pretty large states that he won with relative ease in 2000. Then there's Missouri, West Virgina, New Hampshire, and Nevada - four Bush 2000 states that we have a really nice chance at flipping.

So with all of the importance put on Florida and Ohio, we have a ton of other places where Bush will have to really stretch himself.

15. The way I see it, as long as Kerry carries OH and PA...
...then FL IS expendable. That doesn't mean Kerry shouldn't campaign his arse off, but it does take some of the pressure off. And quite frankly, I do not want to tempt fate again by having FL be the key state...
OH and PA are most likely, barring any meltdowns/surprises, going to go blue. Remember, OH was won by W in 2000.
