What ticks me off about the President at the school ...

If he hat the shits, he would have excused himself and promptly got himself to the shitter.

Somehow, I think the security of our nation is more important than the President's bowel movements.

I wish they would have asked "Would it have been appropriate for the President to stand up, excuse himself, and defend the nation."

1. He only goes when Karl tells him to

therefore your proposition is presumptuous.

2. I think he was
too busy trying to read all those big words in the book.

8. Actually I recall an account
of SIGNS being held up in the back of the room to instruct him on how to proceed. "SAY NOTHING."

3. Bush was decisive.
Bush decided to stay put for seven minutes until he was advised.

4. If he was decisive ...
... he would've decided to DO SOMETHING about the situation instead of sitting around in a campy photo-op.

At 42 posts, defending Bush for sitting in the classroom is a pretty clear way of identifying yourself as a disruptor. There are a few heresies around here, and defending Bush for the indefensible is a clear cut sign of a freeper.

Since I'm under the impression that you're a freeper, let me point out that Bush knew about the FIRST plane hitting the tower BEFORE he even entered the classroom. Let me further remind you that any action to shoot down planes would need HIS consent. Indeed the Republicans have played a little spin saying that planes could not be scrambled because Bush didn't give his consent (which is a lie, but indirectly an indicting one).

Like I said, if Bush had the runs he would have stood up and politely exucused himself. So unless you think that Bush would have sat their and shit his pants in order to look "decisive", we can reasonably extrapolate that the defense of our nation is less important than the cleanliness of the President's briefs in his own mind.

Of course, the other theory is that the president was unnecessary because the president is well ... unnecessary. He doesn't run things, he simply does what others tell him and "plays the part" like some lazy unengaged prince.

5. You don't recognize irony
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 03:40 PM by Bernardo de La Paz
I was not defending Bush.

I was being ironic, but that escaped you.

I am not a disruptor. I am not a freeper.

Check my other postings. Here is an example: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=721428&mesg_id=722439
I will even give you the title:
"Right on! Perpetual War is why BushCo must be stopped"

(Added: You jumped to a conclusion so quickly you did not read my signature tag line. I include it here so that you will be sure to be able to read it: ''What's the difference between Dubya and a used car seller? The used car seller knows when they are lying. "While it's not necessarily true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is the case that most stupid people are conservative." John Stuart Mill'')

Satisfied? Or do you wish to continue with your unfounded accusations? lanparty writes: "clear cut sign of a freeper" ha!

I would grateful to receive your apology post here. And if you have "reported" me, the honorable thing to do would be to immediately retract it with the moderators.

6. Don't worry, sometimes we jump the gun, but only
because we are "takin' it to 'em". We ain't sitting this one out.

7. Netiquette ...

I did notice your tag, but those can be copied from others. For future reference, you may want to denote sarcasm and irony with a winky smiley ;-)

;-) ;) ;-) ;) ;-) ;) ;-) ;) ;-) ;) ;-) ;) ;-) ;)

I won't apologize. At 43 posts you don't know how things work around here yet.

:P

9. This is how newbies are welcomed?
Sarcasm and irony are too subtle for you, from your lofty perch of 1000+ posts, so you require that others warn you with smileys?

lanparty writes:I did notice your tag, but those can be copied from others.

It doesn't matter whether it is copied or not, what matters is the sentiment contained therein. I must really be a newbie if equating Dubya with a used car seller is a sign of a freeper.

So should I assume, like lanparty, that every bush basher is a freeper, since the bash might conceivably have been copied?

Who is the real newb?

Fine, choose not to apologize, lanparty. I think your choice says more about you than me.

Perhaps some kind person could endow either lanparty or myself with a clue, as appropriate.

10. Hey, I understood the sarcasm
Some people here get too jittery about 'disruptors'. Personally, I find them mildly entertaining. And mighty tasty when prepared with a nice marinade.

If they get out of line, out the door they go. Simple as that.

Welcome aboard!

11. I regret if you took offense ...

... But you really are taking this a bit too seriously.

We have a LOT of freepers who post stuff like that with less than 50 posts under their belt. If you're wondering why I questioned your motives, that's why.

Why some people are mind readers, I'm not. Sarcasm and humor is a matter of delivery not content.

For example.

Your an uptite asshole!!!!!!!!

YOUR AN UPTITE ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!

Wow, you must be an uptite asshole ;-)

See, only the last one showed that I was just kidding.

...don't mind the occasional Stalinist rebuke.

I'm still fairly new since I'm not over 1000 posts...but I "got" your post.
