Bush supporters like to point out there have been no attacks since 9/11...
What they fail to point out is there should have been no attacks since 1993 if he had not fallen asleep at the wheel... I'm sure we will hear this more often in the days ahead...

14. 8 years, 6 months and 11 days.
Give or take a couple days. Of course the Republicans will spin the Embassy attacks of 1998 or the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in 2000 as terror attacks while they don't mention all that has gone down in Iraq.

You are so right. Not many people can think on their own. Even most Dem spokespeople can't think this far out of the box.

Where are you from?

13. TWO Foreign originated terror attacks on the USA since 1776. Bush LET ONE
happen.

The other, in 1993, caught us totally unawares.

Fortunately, President Clinton caught, tried and imprisoned the perpetrators of the 1993 event.

Can't say bush has done the same for the one he allowed to happen.

16. No need for another attack...yet.
The constant warning of impending attacks sufices to keep many Americans fearful. When the American public by a majority start to feel that the Neo Fascists are crying wolf another major attack will probably occur. Al Q spaces out major ops in 3 to 4 yr. cycles.

15. The friendly email I sent to my freeper friends that love to send
me propaganda emails. I enjoyed sending this out to all the pro-bushies I know:

RE: Did you know?

Bill Clinton was in office 37 days on Feb 26, 1993, the day that the World Trade Center was first attacked? He never once blamed the attack on George H. Bush (#41) and Clinton's admin tracked down those responsible and put them in jail where they belong.

Interesting fact, don't you think? Was it Harry Truman that said "the buck stops here"?

=================
The World Trade Center Bombing
---------------------------------------------------------------------
On Friday, February 26, 1993, a massive explosion occurred in the public parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. As a result of the explosion, 6 persons were killed, and more than 1,000 injured. The site of the blast became one of the largest crime scenes in NYPD history. Estimates showed property damage in excess of one half billion dollars. The sense of fear and panic in the city was palpable. Indeed, many in law enforcement thought of this investigation as the "case of the century."

The JTTF stepped into the maelstrom and helped restore calm to the city. Within a month of the blast, the JTTF apprehended four individuals responsible for the attack. The suspects went on trial on September 13, 1993. The trial lasted 6 months with the presentation of 204 witnesses and more than 1,000 pieces of evidence. A jury convicted the four defendants on March 4, 1994, in federal court on all 38 counts against them. On May 25, 1994, a judge sentenced each of the four defendants to 240 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. On February 7, 1995, authorities in Pakistan arrested the prime fugitive wanted in connection with the bombing and subsequently rendered him to U.S. authorities. This suspect, the mastermind behind the bombing, was sentenced to 240 years in prison on January 8, 1998.

The quick action taken by the JTTF did much to allay fears and return a sense of normalcy to New York City. The World Trade Center bombing will be remembered as the gravest attack of international terrorism to occur directly on American soil. As part of the plot to strike at the United States, these international terrorists intended to disrupt the dynamics of daily life, commerce, and finance in one of the most heavily populated cities in the United States. The suspect and his associates had hoped to kill upwards of 35,000 innocent people. The excellent work accomplished by the JTTF in investigating and successfully resolving the case dispelled the sense of vulnerability the terrorists had hoped to instill.

20. Except for the small incident on Sept 11th, Mr Bush has done a fairly good
job at protecting our country - except for the small, illegal invasion of Iraq which has killed more than 900 Americans....

21. So Bush is reponsible for what HASN'T happened???
What terror has he STOPPED? We haven't been invaded by aliens, either. Does that mean he's kept us safe from them? This is exactly the kind of shallow logic these turds feed to their ignorant minions.

22. I was unaware terrorists are under time constraints. . .
Is there a schedule of events posted somewhere, so we can all know how many terrorist attacks are supposed to occur in the US in each calendar year, something we can all plan our vacations around?

I remember a comment made by the Taliban foreign minister, in one of his last communiques before he was shut down:

The future is not long for he who waits for it.

What's never said by those who marvel that there have been no attacks against us since September, 2001, is that terrorists can sometimes afford to be patient. Also, terrorists are not all members of some rigid cabal like BushCo. . . they act independently of each other at times, and the waiting game only serves to increase their potency. The defenders, you see, have to be eternally vigilant, for the offensives can come at any time, from any direction (many times from a direction not foreseen), and the success of the defenders is always on the line. For the aggressors, even though they be rebuked time and again, a single, creative success will redeem all their previous failed efforts, while simultaneously laying waste to the defender's claim of invincibility.

It's a deadly, uneven game in which we're engaged, so the players have to be careful what kind of trash talk they make -- both on and off the court -- and when.

Maybe the Frat Boy would like to tell Michael Berg's loved ones and Paul Johnson's loved ones that al Qaida is no longer a threat. I'm sure they'll be just tickled to know that.
