Racist Sues Town Over Canceled Concert
DETROIT (AP) -- Noted Michigan Racist and has-been rocker Ted Nugent filed a lawsuit in federal court, claiming organizers who canceled a June performance wrongly accusing the Racist of making racist comments.

The Racist claims that accusations made by city officials and others, and the cancelation of the Racist's June 30 concert, damaged the Racist's reputation and career, according to a statement issued by the Racist's attorney.

"In a world of political correctness (The non-Racist world, not his), there is no more reputation-destroying term than racist," The Racist said in the statement. "And the alleged statements falsely attributed to me (The Racist) could not have been more inaccurate or misleading, completely counter to what I (The Racist) stand for."

More on the Racist and his practice of Racism.......

5. Dumbell
said something about j*p guitars, and when called on it went on a tirade about PC uptightness over words, throwing in g**ks and n*****s for good measure:

7. thanks for the link, I will take Nugent's side
Although the story is not positively slanted towards Nugent, I can give him the benefit of the doubt until I see a transcript.

"The conversation was innocuous talk about guitars until Nugent referred to "Japs" in reference to Japanese-made guitars. Lewis and Floorwax immediately called him on that, which only encouraged Nugent to go further, using the word "g----."

The DJs protested further, and Nugent went further, noting Richard Pryor's use of the word "n-----" as a comic device and said that, long ago, one of the Funk Brothers used that term as a compliment to describe Nugent's guitar playing."

The only thing he really said was "Jap" which is not necessarily a sign of a racist. I can imagine that the rest of the conversation went like this.

DJs: You can't say "Japs".

Nugent: Get over the PC. It is not like I am calling them 'goo*s'.

DJs: Now you are making things worse.

Nugent: Give me a break. Those are just words. Richard Pryor said "ni**er" all the time in his act. One of the Funk brothers said I play guitar like a "ni**er"

At which point he was censored. Now, if the transcript is something like that, does that really put him at the top of the racist a$$holes list? I know that he is infamous as a right wing loudmouth, but I do not think it is fair to find fault with everything he does. Because he is evil - everything he does must be evil. Some people seem very quick to raise the "O" flag, and I, for one, am offended by that.

2. "damaged his career"
That's pretty funny. Maybe if the music thing doesn't work out, Nugent can try comedy. :-)

3. How can a career be damaged
when there was no 'career' to speak of beforehand?

4. It might be a bit more convincing
if he hadn't made "the alleged statements falsely attributed to him" on the radio.

6. Hmm, is that station a Clear Channel?
That would be ironic.
