DU this event! Mankato, MN

President * has two appearances planned tomorrow in Mankato, Minnesota. Please come to offer a positive democratic presence.

The campaign simply asks that this be a positive event with positive, pro-Kerry signs. (ex. "Hope is on the way," "Help is on the way," "Mankato is Kerry Country.") Please bring your own supplies to help out with costs.

2.) On Wednesday, August 4, there will be a message event/rally at City Hall (Intergovernmental Center) in Mankato at 1:00 pm. This is located at 10 Civic Center Plaza. (Off of US 14, take the Riverfront Dr. exit. Turn left onto N. Riverfront Dr. Turn left onto E. Main St. Turn right onto S. 2nd St. Turn right onto E. Jackson, which leads into the parking lot for City Hall (Intergovernmental Center).)

3.) After the message rally, we will be heading out to privately owned land adjacent to the Bush appearance: at 23486 Third Ave. It is located near the quarry site. To get there: off of US 14, take the 3rd Ave exit and take a right (head north) until 23486. There will be signs to mark the meeting area. The doors for the Bush event open at 2:15, pre-event activities start at 3:30, and the doors close at 4:15. We want to be at this land, on the road side from 2pm to 4pm as everyone drives into the quarry, so try to stay for that whole time period. Finally, try to car pool, though some parking space will be available at Mr. Coyour's land.

First off, City Hall is a weird place to hold an event. There's hardly any room on the grounds! And it's surrounded by houses (big security no-no).

And what the hell is he doing going out to the middle of nowhere for the second event? Sounds like he's off to the quarry. And I can't recall any quarries around Mankato.

I would have thought he'd be up around the MSU campus. Or sucking up at Vikings training camp. Or falling off a barstool at the Albatross.

Is the City Hall thing the pro-Kerry event? Sounds like a weird place for a Bush rally.

I guess it starts at 5 PM, so at least he won't jinx my Vikings with his losing ways (let him pollute the Browns instead).

Mankato is about 4 hours south of me though....can't afford the gas to get there.
