President's Daughters Get Ride On Diverted Flight
WASHINGTON -- US Airways confirmed Tuesday that a scheduled flight between Boston and Washington, D.C., was diverted Saturday so some stranded passengers -- including President George W. Bush's twin daughters -- could get on the plane.

The Bush twins were picked up in Albany, N.Y., along with 22 other passengers. However, the move caused a two-hour delay for those traveling from Boston, reported WRC-TV in Washington, D.C.

The US Airways Shuttle flight between Boston and D.C. was already 20 minutes behind schedule when, just before take-off, passengers were told their aircraft would be making the unscheduled stop.

<snip>

...A representative for US Airways said the decision to divert the plane had nothing to do with the Bush twins. In fact, the representative said US Airways often diverts planes for such problems, but could not provide an exact number when asked.

Later on, the same rep for US Airways, bet $10 for the Brooklyn Bridge on ebay.com.

1. Let's waste a little more jet fuel and make a "special" trip
for the bush babes. I don't believe for one second that it had nothing to do with the twins. Bullcrap. Couldn't they like....go to Enterprise or Budget car rental and uh, like DRIVE??? :eyes:

Since other people got on as well, I'll buy the official line from the company.

Non-story.

7. I would guess it's their security detail...
..you know they weren't traveling by themselves.

3. The question is, did they know the Bush daughters were among
the passengers? When a flight gets cancelled, the passengers usually have to catch a different flight or are sent by bus.

We have lots of folks on this board who surely travel frequently. Has anyone ever experienced or even heard of such a thing before?

4. As I just said on my blog....
"If this was Clinton, they'd be demanding the resignation of the head of the FAA right now."

5. But the airlines do this for me all the time.
As a matter of fact, I have a runway in my backyard specifically for that purpose. /end sarcasm
