5. When Al Gore became a board member
that gave me a big clue that Steve Jobs probably is a democrat.

I love using my mac regardless of the CEO's political views. =)

Al Gore is also on the board of apple. We can thank both for funding the fellas that created the world wide web.

I pray that he recovers from his cancer and stays in remission. We have so many things to thank Jobs for, Pixar alone, he has given back so much.

I don't remember whether it was that he is an investor or he's on the board or what. But, I do remember that when the sale finally went through reading that Jobs was somehow involved.

I'm sending out good vibes his way too. I've always had macs and apple products and "knock on wood" have always had really good luck with them. I wouldn't buy any other computer.

6. Anyone see that cheesy movie
about Bill and Steve? It was mostly about microsoft's beginnings and it portrayed steve as a nut but it was fairly interesting.

When I think about corporate America and breaking into the big leagues (im a small business owner), I remember a scene from that movie where Steve walks into a board meeting in bare feet, leans back in a chair, puts his feet on the table, and gives a symbollic finger to everyone. I try to take a little bit of that with me!

while Jobs made everything happen most of the early Apple stuff was based on Woz's work (that and shortsighted Xerox selling off their technology). The TNT movie was fun in a campy sort of way but anyone who is really interested in the beginnings of the personal computer revolution should check out "Fire in the Valley" by Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine (Pirates is based on it).

12. Yeah, saw that made for tv film
and it was pretty interesting. Gates comes across as an obsessive geek and Jobs as a visionary with poor coping skills. I love my Ibook but am forced to admit the PC has its advantages at times.

Pirates of Silicon Valley was not that bad.

My hubby is total mac man, we have had both imacs, we have the new ipod, and we have had an apple laptop. Once you go mac you never go back.

21. I think 'eccentric control freak' is a bit more accurate.
From what I've heard, his off-beat megalomania is responsible for most of Apple's successes and all of its failures. ;)

Served them a Vegan meal too!

Jobs is a great visionary. He has twice brought Apple Computer back from the brink of extinction. They have always been a catalyst for advancing computer technology. Forst home computer with a GUI, first with a mouse, first CD-ROM drive, invented firewire, first to abandon the floppy drive (big ballsy move there) first 64 bit PC.
