1. OK, I'm officially done with CNN!
I was hoping their behavior was only temporary ... a reaction to the Dem convention ... but it's obvious they've made a full-blown commitment to the RW. So be it.

Where the hell is Gore's channel?!? By the time he starts it up, it won't matter anymore.

They need to hear, over and over, how they're LOSING viewers. And why. Otherwise, they don't even know you exist in the first place.

Not Boeing and the behemoths, but many cable markets air local business ads. Copying them on your message to CNN might help.

20. MSNBC is becoming a little more palatable.
Yes, Chris Matthews is still a loose cannon, and Joe Scarborough - well, WHAT can we SAY about Joe Scarborough!? But even so, their "unconventional convention coverage" last week was rawther remarkable. The eminently sane, articulate, informed, and classy Ron Reagan was a cohost with Joe Scarborough, who had apparently taken some reasonableness pills before he went on the air. Not an INSTANT of shrill smug put-down in-yer-face dumping on Democrats out of him throughout. It was actually somewhat shocking. I kept turning to my husband and saying "Joe Scarborough must not be feeling well." It was damned near ridiculous (but MOST welcome) to watch 'em on Thursday night. It was as though every one of them, including the revolving pundit panels, had taken an oath that day to say nothing bad about Democrats. It was REALLY refreshing.

I do not know the particulars, but I understand their ratings improved during the convention. Perhaps at CNN's expense. They were a welcome alternative, and they were actually easy to watch.

And besides, THEY'RE the network that brings you KEITH OLBERMANN!!!!

I tuned in during this interview and all I saw was "former congressman" or something like that.

He was spewing bullshit like saying that John Kerry is forcing Bush to play politics with the 9/11 report.

6. The 9/11 report is BS politics to its core.
Barr clearly has no understanding of the report, which is, at its core, nothing but a RW political plaything. It exonerates Precious Georgie of any wrongdoing. I think we all knew what the outcome of it would be. I would be disappointed with Kerry if he DIDN'T call the RW bluff.

The commission was, from the begginning, an obvious bad joke. There are enough sheeple out there that the BADministration can publically peddle bullshit and it does not hit the radar screen. The commission, at least the pukes on it, were lap dogs on a GOOD day, and administration gigolos on bad ones.

That Hemmer person who told M Moore people wanted him dead is a really loathsome creature. As are Crawley, Woodruff, and Blitzer.

They all suck. Internet and select print media are now the last bastions of truth.

23. When the war with Iraq started
CNN pulled it's mid-day show that had an auidence, Talk back Live with Arthel Nevel. It was a show I actually liked. The other show I actually liked that had an audidence that got to ask questions and show all sides was The Donahue Show on MSNBC. It was also pulled a couple days before the war in Iraq.

How fucking stupid do you think we are media?

It's all propaganda. The pulling of these shows prove it. There are no political/issue shows on that actually let average people speak. They claim to show "both sides" with their pathetic pundits. I want real people.

WAIT-there's one. Dayside with Linda Heil Bush Vester. Oh, that's Fox, and everybdy has the same "opinion".

Dissent and thinking outside the media frame are not allowed.

46. As IMRadioactive said, Bob Barr opposes PATRIOT Act -- always has.

He was on a lot of shows (Maher's PI was one) talking about it while he was still in Congress. He also sent me a lot of mail about it, being my Congressman at the time. I give him full credit for speaking out on this issue.

Prior to the 2002 elections, the Repubs in the Georgia Legislature did some redistricting that helped Barr lose his seat. Most think Bush* minions wanted Barr to go down because he'd questioned the emperor's clothing choices. After his loss, the ACLU hired him as a consultant.

Barr says the PATRIOT Act was stuff they'd wanted to enact for a long time and 9/11 was used as an excuse for it. He used to be a federal prosecutor so he probably knows something about law. We all know how quickly they came up with a huge piece of legislation, too long for most in Congress to have time to read it before voting on it, so our knowledge supports him on this.

Otherwise, Barr is scum, but speaking out against the PATRIOT Act is one good thing he has done. It suggests he has some loyalty to the Constitution.

We quit watching CNN forever on the second night of the convention, though.
