* calls his golden retriever a Siamese cat! Holy cripes!
and no it ain't no lie. Found it on page 106 of the August 9, 2004 of Time Magazine (yeah TIME MAGAZINE!).

It as at the bottom of the page - one paragraph (part of it here only) ...

-snip-

Governor Bush's brother George W. faced serious credibility issues when it was disclosed that the animal he had described as his and wife Laura's new cat is actually a dog.

-snip-

The President's insistence on patting his golden retriever and calling him a Siamese during a recent Larry King Live had alarmed even Republicans, but the revelation that it was "just election-year politics" has allowed Washington to breathe a sigh of relief.

-snip-

:wtf:

Tell me now how much SAFER you REALLY feel!!! :scared:

5. No it is from the Time Magazine - no B.S.!
I unfortunatley subscribe to it (got one year of it for $25 and thought it might be interesting). This is printed at the bottom of page 106 - August 9, 2004 issue which arrived yesterday in my mail.

I am sorry to write that this in an Essay, by Bruce McCall (Just Label Us Skeptical) is very for real! Yikes!!

:wtf: again!

More Prozac comin' right up *!

13. If it's by Bruce McCall,
it's obviously satire. He's an alumnus of the National Lampoon and writes screamingly funny stuff for the New Yorker. And then there's his art work....

6. It's not BS, it's in the latest issue of Time
in the op/ed section. It is a spoof on how easily things seem to get "mislabeled" these days. I don't think it is on-line.

9. I have no link
I'm worried about copyright infringement - otherwise I'd type the whole paragraph out. The parts I have typed out are about 1/2 of it. Can you believe this? I almost missed it, believe me!

8. Are you kidding?

If not, I am getting my letter off to Time today!

I am a fan of "Save Barney in the WH."

I think it is telling that GW does not realize the difference between a dog and a cat. He certainly does not know how to treat
Barney.

Any President that does not like animals, does not like our citizens.

15. "...calls watermelons pickles..."
No surprise here. This is typical of a viper...

Oh, you ever met that funny reefer man?
Have you ever met that funny reefer man?
If he trades you dimes for nickles,
and calls watermelons pickles,
you know your talkin to that reefer man.

Have you ever met that funny reefer man?
That funny, funny, funny reeferman?
He smokes a reefer, he gets high, and he flies up to the sky,
you know your talking to that reefer man."

--Cab Calloway

Perception is affected when you're stoned. Bush looks at a golden retriever and calls it a Siamese cat...

I understand if you can't provide a link to the article, but do insist on a link proving *bush even has a golden retriever as a pet. That ought to be easy enough.

Thanks in advance

18. Read the rest of the ESSAY -- and you'll SEE it's a joke ...
Edited on Wed Aug-04-04 01:59 PM by gauguin57
... the first item of "Just Label Us Skeptical" says that a major movie theater in Times Square advertised a new Tom Cruise movie, and people went to see it, and it turned out that the STUDIO SAID it had replaced Tom Cruise with David Hasselhoff as the STAR to save money, and the patrons demanded their money back.

The third item says the footwear industry is marketing gloves as shoes and drastically marking them up, saying hands and feet both have five digits.

The fourth item talks about how vacationers were re-routed from Florida to Greenland because Jeb Bush said the state was full up.

HELLO? SATIRE!

Please don't even joke about taking this seriously ... the Freepers will decapitate you.
