CBS News: Drop in oil prices today is welcome
and it's a "trend". I swear, the anchor called it a "trend". Yesterday oil prices peaked at their highest level EVER, and a drop the next day is called a trend. I am left speechless. Again.

1. Why does the phrase "whistling past the grave" come to mind?

3. Was it John Roberts?
God, I hate that man. BRING BACK DAN RATHER! Roberts' rightwing bias has made watching the CBS evening news an unpalatable chore.

7. Who is going to replace Rather when he retires?
Is it going to be John Roberts? I can't stand him, either.

4. Does anyone know where I can find a graph of oil prices?
I imagine they graph it just like stocks. But where?

6. Something to consider with that
According to the IRS, the average income in the US shrank 9% between 2000 and 2002, when adjusted for inflation. That makes the higher fuel prices (and resulting inflation) a bit more noticeable.

8. And so what happens today?

Stocks plunge as oil prices gush to new highs. This was not referred to as a "trend" this time... :eyes:
