I'm interested in what gas costs today in your part of the world and if you are in a blue or red state.
I'm in Southern CA. Is there a trend? Blue vs. Red?

1. In Chicago area
$1.78 outlying, 1.88 in the city. We're expecting it to go a lot higher. That and our natural gas heating bills this winter.

We're pretty much a blue state now.

4. Louisville, KY
Prices ranging from 1.65 from the independants through 1.95 from BP.

BP in our area is a different story; controlled via a franchise and the "head dud" jacked up gas prices over 3 bucks per-gallon on 9/11.

I prefer the independant owners in my area; same gas from the same sources using the same tankers. Besides, the prices are low and the gas moves fast before it has a chance to collect moisture in the underground tanks.

6. Northern Calif near Oregon = $2.25 a gallon cheap stuff
It was $2.23 the yesterday; $2.20 th day before.

Luckily I filled up for $2.07 the other day and I don't drive a whole lot. Sure is maddening!

Think of how the minimum wage worker communting 100 miles a day must feel? Pretty sick I am sure - been there/done that but that was 8 years ago when things were a hell of a lot better than they are right now!

I just reviewed unleaded gas futures and the front month is selling at a level that translates into 3.25 a gallon by Sept!!!!!!!!:wow:

The only bright light is it will KILL the Reps chances for a recall in this state.

13. 2000
When gas prices spiked to not even these same levels in 2000 the Freeps were screaming for Clinton's head on a hubcap. Are they demanding the same from Bush? Of course not.

14. I heard about the $4 a gallon on the television news.
Quite an increase. Perhaps there is a shortage because we are using so much fuel for war.

15. Nah,pipeline break in Az
But...nothing like some good gouging of consumers while they fix and test the pipe. That kind of shit used to be against the law,now it seems to be accepted.

17. I drove 800 miles today,
from central Oregon to So Cal.

My mom says gas prices have gone up suddenly in her area of Oregon; it was about 2.09 for regular. I made 3 gas stops along the 5 today; nothing lower than 2.19, nothing higher than 2.39.

18. $1.80 in Minnesota
blue state. Although on the drive here there were some stops along the way where it was lower. Lowest I saw was $1.63 in Moorhead (MN/ND border)

But in the red state North Dakota, it was $1.70 and going up to $1.75 when I left.

19. Sunrise, FL (Broward Cty--near Ft. Lauderdale)
On the way to work--there's an Amoco Station that everyone, and I mean everyone stops at... (they were refilling the tanks during rush hour (!) yesterday)--it's the cheapest on this route, w/ lines to get in.. it was 1.55 reg unleaded. today-- 1.57. Across the street-- Shell station was 1.69 today 1.71

Guess we're luckier than most, huh... Hess usually has the cheapest in this area...

22. For the first time in the history of Fairbanks
our gas is cheaper than in Anchorage. And we have the refineries. Go figure.

We're paying $1.63 regular unleaded. It hasn't moved up or down much at all in the last year.
