I filled up my gas tank today in Orlando FL and was surprised to...
...gas prices down to $1.80.9 from $1.88.9 last week. Then I found out Governor Jeb Bush suspended the Florida State excise tax on gasoline which was $0.08 per gallon. That's money that is used for vital road maintenance in the state and other vital public services. On any given day Florida roads have over 7.0 million cars and a at least 1/2 million trucks driving on our roads. So conservatively this represents a loss in state tax revenues of $1.8 to $2.0 million every since day! This governor, George Dubya's brother is playing dangerous politics with the state's public revenue supply and will cause a $1 trillion dollar shortfall in our budget if this decision is not reversed. Geeze, what these republicans won't do to get votes!

2. It is for the month of August only.
The intent was to help people taking driving vacations. It will be back on Sept 1st.

Your math is a little off...assuming the $2mil a day is right, that would equate to 62Mil for the month...not 1 Trillion.

Jeb and the legislature felt that sales tax dollars are up (it's been a great year for tourism) and decided to implement the tax cut.

"See Daddy, I can do a tax cut just like Dumbya."

4. School s have started.. so who is taking vacations??
August is the bush family vacation time. Not Floridians.

Vacationors FLY in. This impacts the locals.. who are not vacationing.

However, Bush's polling numbers are impacted by gas prices. Hmmmm.. wonder if THAT has anything to do with Jeb's actions. No, surely not.

This being the moolah he stole from taxpayers in the '86 Broward Savings and Loan swindle.

6. September sticker shock when price goes back up will not help Bush!
Plus, how long can the price stay down, even in August, with price of a barrel of oil skyrocketing of late to almost $45 per barrel. Oil may reach $50 a barrel before the year is out, according to some analysts.

This will backfire--big time--on both Jeb and Dubya.
