Maureen Dowd on CSPAN - vacant, vapid and stupid
Anyone catch MoDo talking about her new book with Lamb? I've never really seen her or heard her speak and man is she unimpressive. I could only stand about a half an hour of her content free, warmed over "analysis". This woman is like your worst Valley Girl High School nitemare. Between the "ummms", "you knows" and frequent tossing of the hair I found my self wondering how this moron won Pulitzer Prize? She really is dumb. She had no insights and I learned nothing.

I didn't see her on C-SPAN, but I did see her on "Meet the Press" where she was quite unremarkable. I almost felt like she was constantly trying to do a poor Drew Barrymore impression. (???)

She's a frustrated fiction writer masquerading as a journalist. No substance at all. She was a favorite of the Bush I White House - big pals with press secretary Marlon Fitzwater. Something tells me she's on her way out at the NYT.

Sure, she tore Clinton a new one each week, but she almost always does the same thing to the current fool and she has a special hate on going for Cheney. She knows W's a moron and she doesn't mind saying so.

Considering some of the worthless twits we have to deal with in print and on TV, she's a relative asset, in my opinion.

So she's not magnetic, big deal.

but that he was malleable and being led astray. She used the Woodward fable about how Tenent was to blame for telling AWOL the Iraq intel was a "slam dunk". She went out of her way to praise AWOL along the "he's comfortable in his own skin" line and then trashed Kerry for being the "know it all". Sound familiar? She's no Kerry supporter.

And then I quit, not being a masochist.

She writes the same column over and over again: look how clever I am, I can trash somebody famous/important/newsworthy by talking only about trivial matters such as clothing, gestures, and hairdos, throwing in a few imaginary conversations.

I've said it before, but been there, done that, at the lunch table in junior high.

I find her editorials pointless fluff. They are pretty much worthless.

Of course, the Times editorials are almost all worthless, considering the others -- Friedman, Safire, and the worst of them all -- Brooks.

The only exception is Krugman, who is always a voice of reason.

25. While I have major issues with some of Maureen's perspectives
Most notably her treatment of Theresa Heinz Kerry -which seems to be exceedingly shallow and petty-I have a soft spot for her. I have thoroughly enjoyed her countless articles savaging * and his Administration throughout the previous three years -before I found DU, she was the one person that I'd turn to who provided me with the liberal perspective that I needed

Maureen may not be perfect but she's way above Paula Zahn and all the other shallow RW'ers you see around

and she doesn't support Kerry. She was pddling the "Tenant made him do it" Iraq line to absolve AWOL and was prattling on about how smart he really was and that Kerry was a know it all. It's all entertainment to her and she does not give two shits who wins this election.
