What was Bush SUPPOSED to say when he said,

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."?

I just checked the White House transcript at

And they've got the actual flubbed version. Anyone know what he was *supposed* to say there?

4. I could swear someone posted the actual speech here, and

it was slightly different. Like, "they never stop thinking of ways to kill you and we never stop thinking of ways to stop them", or something like that.

I could swear he was adlibing there.

5. Yes, it has to be.

Either he got way farked up on his teleprompter, or that was the way the speech was written. And I can't imagine what the passage COULD have been written to say.

I mean, something that could be made to fit in the "and neither do we" slot. I have no idea what he meant. Maybe he was just talking on his own for once.

This quote was on Letterman last night. People know he said it. That's why the White House hasn't scrubbed it.
