I can't think of a more perfect double standard - from the media or from the Republicans. They would have been screaming at the top of their lungs about how that the Commander in Chief is in charge and the buck stops at the White House. No ifs, ands, or buts. And the media would be parroting their charges. Do you doubt for a moment this would be what we would be hearing if a Democrat had been in charge on Sept 11th?

But where does the buck stop with these hypocrites? It must have been an "intelligence failure"? It was a failure of "imagination"? It was anything but "where does the buck stop?"

1. Remember how all the Democrats rallied around the President
after 9/11? Remember how everybody did? Do you think for a minute they would have done the same thing if Gore had been President? My God! They would have had him executed! They do not play by the same rules. They are ruthless. I still don't believe the Democrats understand this.

5. I think it would have depended on his actions.
I know, now you all think I'm a traitor. I believe, at least the major media, would have rallied around whoever was Pres. at that time. Most people in America did. I doubt the "hands off honeymoon" would have lasted as long as itdid in shrub's case. Did you notice some of the WH reporters asking some very pointed questions at shrub's last press conference? You know, the one where he proved he didn't know how to spontaniously repsond to anything? At least some of the media seems to have responded to the change in the public's support for shrub.

I think Gore would have been just a tough in his response to the attack on Afghanastan, but wouldn't have gone to war with Iraq. I'm sure you wouldn't have seen Gore standing on top of a fire truck, but you would have had a lot more Press Conferences, and an articulate explaination to the people about where we were, what we were doing, and why.

8. media would have rallied around whoever was Pres?
HAHAHHA...Media rallying behind Gore? HAHAHA...ARE YOU SERIOUS? The mainstreem media on september 12, 2001 would have demanded investigatiions and acvcountability and would be calling for the impeachment of Gore for not defending our country by not taking the threat serious enough....I JUST CANNOT IMAGINE THE MEINSTREEM MEDIA GIVING GORE A BREAK!

6. I used to think they were ruthless too
What appears as ruthlessness is in fact a single-minded obsession in pursuit of their ideas ignoring facts and realities to the detriment of all.

2. God knows, but i think it may have been prevented.
We'll never know. I don't see him going to his horse farm in Tennesses for a months vacation and blowing off PDBs that warned of impending attacks.
He would have had better people in his cabinet - not the partisan hacks currently in place.

3. If Gore were in the WH back then, the buck still would have
stopped with Clinton. They'd be afraid of looking too partisan by blaming a guy who was only in office for eight months, so they would have done what they do best: blame the attacks on Clinton's dick.

7. Within days, Gore would have been forced to resign ahead of impeachment.

But there is less than a 1% chance that 9/11 would have ever happened under President Gore. Assuming that it was not LIHOP or MIHOP (which I believe it was), but rather just monumental incompetence, Gore would not have ignored repeated, urgent reports from his own intelligence and countries all over the world that we were about to be attacked. Like Clinton, Gore would have been obsessed by al Queda, and done everything possible to prevent an attack. They would have been stopped before 9/11, but even if they weren't, you can be sure that our airports and NORAD would have been on the highest alert.

And it is also impossible to believe that the headquarters of our multi-trillion dollar Department of "Defense" would have been successfully attacked by some horizontal-flying losers an hour after they knew our nation was under attack.

9. As Richard Clarke said....
to the 911 commission Clinton and Gore "shook the trees" in preventing many attacks on our country during the 1990s....Gore would have done the same and not shut out his terrorism czar out of the loop.

10. Once Gore would have known two planes were hijacked
alot of things would have been very, very, very different. Then one building gets hit, forget about the other three.

12. The attacks on the US would not have happened
because the Repukes would have declared civil war, starting in Miami.

OBL would have been watching this country melt down from afar.
