Is Bush coming unglued?
Just in the last week he has made three incredibly stupid remarks:

1. He stumbled and bumbled about sovereignty and was laughed at by the audience.

2. He ended up saying his administration was trying to harm the nation.

3. He talks about how rich people dodge taxes anyway.

Is Karl Rove just on vacation or has the Bush train left the tracks?

14. Here it is...
Bush also said high taxes on the rich are a failed strategy because "the really rich people figure out how to dodge taxes anyway."

and the Kerry Campaign's response:

Asked about that comment, Jonathan Beeton, spokesman for Kerry's campaign in Virginia, said "George Bush can speak with authority about really rich people. ... That's his base, so I'm sure he knows what he's talking about. But that doesn't make it right."

Thanks, Kos.

6. He is a loose cannon in a hurricane...
his cluelessness scares me more than anything.

They managed to keep him under wraps and away from the press, for the most part, but he is showing his true colors.

How ANYONE can support this man is a mystery to me.

7. Nah, he's always been an imbecile.
But he's usually on vacation, so we don't hear about it.

He's really campigning now, so he's making more public mistakes per hour.

12. Don't forget "intern camps"
(instead of internment camps).

He's just stupid, and it's going to be harder to script him now that we've seen so many examples of it.

15. Intern camps??
Sounds more like something the Clinton administration would have had. Maybe Monica doing training exercizes like the carrot scene in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"

Yes, I'm bad, I know :spank:

13. Was he ever "glued" to begin with?
The man claims that God told him to bomb the shit out of two countries. And if he were ever forced to admit his involvement in 9-11-01, he'd probably claim God gave him permission for that as well. Yet he thinks he's more mentally stable than Bin Laden or Hussein, who claim the same excuse for their actions?

17. That is a stunning train of idiotic remarks. Perhaps his 3 worst EVER...
... all back-to-back. Not to mention the convoluted "new name" for the War on Terror from the same speech as the "sovereignity" blather.

I think there are two things going on:

1) They, and he, are becoming desperate, and as a result, lackadaisical and yes, "unglued".

2) They feel the pressure (because Kerry does it) to put him out on the stump and speak off the cuff to real people. This can only hurt them. But that's what they get when they pin their hopes on a man who is so lacking in "intellectual curiosity". Hey, they made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.

I swear, listening to that "sovereignity" answer again, and you get the feeling you're listening to some stoner high school student trying to give an oral book report when he didn't even read the Cliffs Notes. (http://www.majorityreportradio.com/weblog/archives/Bush%20-%20Tribal%20Sovereignty.mp3). This is NOT the first time he has given bonehead answers like this, either. At his best, he repeats the same sound bites ad infinitum while avoiding the question altogether. At his worst, which is often, he sounds completely unprepared.

Maybe it's about time the nation starts to realize that it's because he IS unprepared.
