Hermann Goring's advice to Bush, Cheney, and Karl Rove:
"Whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship...all you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Senator Robert Byrd included this quote from Hermann Goring (Hitler's pal) in his new book, "Confronting a Reckless and Arrogant President."
(And yes, Byrd was a member of the KKK as a young man, but his deeds over many decades have earned him redemption.)

The above quote from a Nazi turd describes the Bush/Cheney/Rove game plan. What's it going to take before Bush voters wake up? Or are they going to remain in goose step with their fuhrer while this country goes down the toilet?

1. They will Goose Step with Der Bunnypants*
They are the psychological and spiritual inheritors of the Nazis, primarily because they have been plied with Goebbels v2.0 propaganda (NEW and IMPROVED--Amerikan Style).

Same people, sme BIG LIES, same mentality.

When their Masters tell them to "go all the way", they will do so without hesittation, thought or remorse...

...like the ORIGINAL DITTOHEADS!

And its the grandkids and children of the same folks who, in America, supported Hitler's regime up until Pearl Harbor made it too unpopular, in America, for the right-wing to support him.

3. I'd understand a small minority thinking this way, but...
...almost half (if you believe the polls) of US voters polled remain behind BushCo! What has happened to rational thinking in this very rich country in which any bit of information is accessible via the Internet? How did it come to pass that religion has come to hog the political arena? Are the populace really that ill-informed? Whose fault is it?

I keep thinking of the book written by the late Neil Postman about the Disneyfication of the US media in "Amusing Ourselves to Death". Required reading for everyone, methinks. Of course, there's the media monopolization, too, and the hard focus on "the bottom line" that has driven just about every enterprise in the US today (although not exclusive to the US).

4. Some call you retarded, I call you my base...
That's why 50% of the people in polls continue to back Bush. They hear in sound bites - Kerry soft, Kerry weak, Kerry flips and flops, no experience - and they run with it.

Critical thinking takes time and effort - two things no body wants to expend after a hard day flipping burgers and upselling Super Size meals.

7. Understand your point, but even many folks with more time and money to...
...spare also "think" this way! I hear the same views from supposedly more educated and informed people in the professional world. What gives?

10. I know what you mean.
It's amazing. I know people who don't have time to cook dinner, but will wait in line for an hour to get a table at a restaurant.

The attitude comes from having a reasonably comfortable lifestyle and low expectations. My vote counts for very little so why should I use it.

6. fa210,
Welcome to DU, but be careful what you say. Your statement "Kill Bush," could be construed as a threat upon the president and the secret service will definitely pay you a visit. This is not a criticism, but a fact.

14. Just a precaution taken...
...because the poster had mentioned something to the effect of dealing with Bush "with extreme prejudice," as some would say, and was alerted by another DUer to the possibility of the DOJ knocking on his door for such hyperbole. You can't take anything for granted anymore, not in this Orwellian atmosphere.

8. What's amazing is the one major difference between...
1930's Germany and early 21st century America... Germany was suffering an economic disaster the likes of which they had never seen before. You can almost understand, a bit, the Germans' willingness to accept Hitler as he was a "promise" to lead them out of a grinding despair and a major depression. At least the maniac offered some "hope" for the German people.

In present day America we are not suffering a depression and Bu*h really offers no hope at all. It should be easier than pie for people to see through this transparent charlatan... but no, they follow him just as blindly as the masses did Hitler, and the astounding thing is that Bu*h has absolutely NOTHING to offer!

Go figure!

...in my view, too. So I fail to understand the reason for the lemming-like behavior of so many Americans today.

Unless, of course, the polls themselves are to be doubted! See other DU thread re Keith Olbermann's skepticism about the neck-and-neck polls:
